An easy yet great hot fudge sauce. I got it from my mom, who got it from a friend, who got it from who knows where, but it's delicious over ice cream.

1 cup sugar
6 tablespoons cocoa
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup hot water
3 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Steps:

  • Stir everything together in a pot.
  • Bring to a boil, stirring occassionally.
  • Enjoy.

  • In 2-quart saucepan, heat milk, chocolate chips and sugar to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly; remove from heat.
  • Stir in butter and vanilla until sauce is smooth and creamy. Cool about 30 minutes or until sauce begins to thicken. Store covered in refrigerator up to 4 weeks.
