1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chopped pecans
Additional confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and confectioners' sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in pecans. Refrigerate until chilled., Preheat oven to 350°. Roll into 1-in. balls and place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes or until set. Roll warm cookies in additional confectioners' sugar; cool completely on wire racks. Roll cooled cookies again in confectioners' sugar.

This is my great-grandma's recipe that everyone loves!

1 ½ cups white sugar
1 cup softened butter
2 eggs
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease.
  • Beat 1 1/2 cups white sugar, butter, and eggs together in a bowl using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl; stir into creamed butter mixture until dough holds together.
  • Mix 2 tablespoons white sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl.
  • Form dough into 2-teaspoon-size balls and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place dough balls, about 2 inches apart, on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven on the center rack for 7 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

My friend gave me this recipe and I guess she served to David Arquette at a band rehearsal and he loved them so she named them after him.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup hershey's cocoa powder
12 ounces Hershey chocolate kisses
powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Beat butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl until creamy. Stir together flour and cocoa; gradually add to butter mixture, stirring until well blended. Cover dough with heavy foil and refrigerate at least 1 hour, or until firm enough to handle and shape.
  • Heat oven to 375 degrees F. While oven is heating, unwrap chocolate kisses. Mold a scant tablespoon of dough around each chocolate piece, covering completely. Shape into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set. Cool about 1 minute and remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Roll in powdered sugar. Roll in sugar again just before serving.
