Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pound (450 g) frozen blueberries, strawberries, raspberries (can substitute fresh, if available)
1 1 / 2 cups (375 mL) orange juice
2 tablespoons (25 mL) fresh lemon juice
2 cups (500 mL) cubed or crushed ice (or more, if desired)
3/ 4 cup (175 mL) mixed berry yogurt
1/ 4 cup (50 mL) vanilla whey protein (optional, available at any health food store)

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in blender and process until smooth.

1 navel orange, peeled and diced ( I cut the skin off with a knife)
1 to 1 1/2 cup frozen blueberries.
Fresh blueberries will do as well, course you might have to add more ice to make it thicker.
2 Tbsp. honey or sugar (or any sweetener of choice)
1 cup ice
If to thick add 1/3 cup water.

Steps:

  • Add orange, blueberries, sweetener (if you chose to use any),and ice to blender. Blend well, 30 seconds or so.

I happened to have an orange in my refrigerator that was screaming at me. I decided to put the juice into one of my smoothies. This smoothie is not as thick as I normally like them and is not as filling to me. 1 1/4 c fresh berries (i used raspberries, but try a mix, or use what you have or like)
1/2 medium fresh banana broken in half
3/4 c plain low fat yogurt
1/2 c fresh squeezed oj (or prepared with low sugar)
1/2 c apple juice or orange juice or canned pineapple juice
2 Tbsp dry milk powder
1 Tbsp wheat germ
1 Tbsp flax
1 tsp honey
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 pkg splenda packet
4 ice cubes (optional)
1/4 c pineapple chunks, (canned okay, reserve juice)

Steps:

  • 1. Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. If you wish to add crushed ice, add 2 ice cubes to blender, and pulse, then the other 2 and pulse. Can also be served over ice cubes if you wish.
