1 (16 ounce) cinnamon raisin bread
1 quart milk
3 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1 tablespoon butter
heavy cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Tear bread into 2" pieces, drop into a large mixing bowl and pour the milk over it.
  • Toss gently until bread is coated.
  • Let bread soak about 15 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, beat eggs together with sugar until mixture is light yellow, smooth and thick.
  • Add vanilla extract and pour this mixture over the milk soaked bread.
  • Gently but thoroughly mix together until bread is evenly coated with the egg mixture.
  • Transfer to a buttered 9" X 13" X 2" baking dish and place uncovered in another pan containing 1-2 inches of water.
  • If you like a crusty top, dot with pats of butter.
  • Place these dishes in the oven and bake until set, when a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, about 1 hour.
  • Serve with some heavy cream!

1 loaf Cinnamon Swirl Bread
6 pieces Eggs (separated 5 and 1, beaten)
2.5 cups Whole Milk
2.5 cups Sugar, Granulated (separated 1.5 cups and 1 cup)
1.25 sticks Butter (separated .25 stick and 1 stick)
.25 cups Brown Sugar
.25 cups Raw Sugar
2 tablespoon Vanilla Extract (separated 1 and 1)
1 tablespoon Bourbon

Steps:

  • Cube bread and place in a large bowl. Cover with towel and let sit overnight to go stale.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Using .25 stick of butter coat bundt. Combine brown sugar and raw sugar and coat the bundt pan making sure the pan is completely coated. Shake out excess sugar mixture.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together 5 eggs, milk, and 1.5 cups of granulated sugar until thoroughly combined. Mix in 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract.
  • Pour mixture over the cubed bread and let soak 25 minutes.
  • Pour into bundt pan making sure to evenly distribute the mixture.
  • Bake 45-50 minutes.
  • Now for the sauce. In medium saucepan, melt 1 stick of butter. Whisk in 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1 egg, and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract. Whisk continuously until sugar is dissolved and mixture starts to thicken. Remove from heat and whisk in the bourbon. Keep stirring until mixture begins to cool slightly.
  • Once the bread pudding is removed from the oven, let sit 5 minutes before turning it out onto a cake plate.
  • Pour Sauce over the bread pudding and serve warm.

4 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 loaf day-old bread, cut into cubes(i used the cheapest white bread from the store and it was amazing)
1/4 cup pecans, chopped(optional)
nonstick cooking spray
maple syrup

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, whisk eggs and milk. Add the brown sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon and whisk until completely incorporated. 2. Stir the bread and pecans into the egg mixture. 3. Coat an 8x8 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. 4. Pour in the bread pudding, and cover with foil. Let sit in the refrigerator at least one hour or overnight. 5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 6. Bake the bread pudding, covered, for about 30 minutes. 7. Remove the foil and bake and additional 10 minutes, until browned. 8. Serve with maple syrup!
