My Aunt Norma gave me this recipe, and my husband and I love it! Easy to substitute your favorite ingredients like a can of drained black olives.

- In a large saucepan, combine green pepper, onion, pepperoni, mushrooms, tomato paste, spaghetti sauce, and garlic. Cover, and simmer for one hour.
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook pasta in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente; drain.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Mix together pasta, ricotta, 1 1/2 cups mozzarella, and Parmesan. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, alternate pasta and cheese mixture and sauce mixture, ending with sauce. Top with remaining mozzarella.
- Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

- In a Dutch oven, cook the beef, onions and pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in the water, tomato paste, mushrooms, pepperoni, sauce mix and Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour., Meanwhile, for pasta, bring water to a boil in a large saucepan. Add macaroni and pastas. Return to a boil, stirring occasionally. - In a small skillet, saute onions, green peppers, and mushrooms in butter or margarine. Set aside.
- Brown hamburger in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain. Mix in tomato sauce, pasta sauce, chopped ham, chopped chicken or turkey, pepperoni, salt, and red and black pepper. Add vegetable saute to hamburger mixture.
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain.
- Spread a little sauce over the bottom of two 9 x 13 inch pans. In each pan, place a layer of pasta, a layer of mozarella cheese, a hamburger sauce layer, a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese, and another layer of mozarella cheese. Repeat layers. Cover pans.

- Chop the onion and green pepper.
- Cook pastas together; drain well.
- Saute beef, onion, and green pepper until beef is no longer pink and vegetables are soft. Add the pepperoni and heat thoroughly. Drain excess grease.
- Add spaghetti sauce and simmer 5 minutes.
- Spray a 3-qt casserole with cooking spray. Put 1/2 of the pasta in the casserole. Spoon 1/2 of the meat sauce mixture over the pasta. Spoon the container of cottage cheese over the sauce. Sprinkle with 1/2 of the mozzarella cheese.
- Top with the remaining pasta, then sauce, then mozzarella cheese.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.

I found this recipe several years ago in Southern Living magazine and it is wonderful! My Mom really loves this so I always have to make it for her on special occasions. This really makes a HUGE amount...but the ingredients could easily be cut in half. Better yet, one dish could be frozen for later use. Enjoy!

- Drain and set aside.
- Mix the pepperoni, tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, salsa, mushrooms and salad peppers.

- 1. Brown ground turkey, onion, and bell pepper. Add pepperoni and sauce.
- 2. Boil all pastas for 10 minutes. Drain.
- 3. Add to meat sauce mixture.
- 4. In a medium bowl, mix 2 cups of mozzarella, the cottage cheese, and Italian seasoning.
- 5. In a 9x13 baking dish, layer almost 1/2 of pasta/meat mixture.
- 6. Then, add a layer of 1/2 cheese mixture.

- 1. Place chopped onion, green pepper, and mushroons into the sauce. Cook for about 15 minutes. Add pepperoni and cook for another 10 minutes.
- 2. Cook and then drain pasta. If available, warm 4 individual casserole dishes in large toaster oven at 200 degrees.
- 3. Divide drained pasta into the 4 casserole dishes. Top the pasta with the sauce mixture. Add about 4 oz of cheese on top of sauce mixture. Place casserole dishes in oven at 400 degress till cheese is melted.

- 1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef with the onion and peppers. Drain excess liquid and reserve. Add spaghetti seasoning to browned meat and blend. Add pepperoni and mushrooms and blend again.

- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Spray a 9 x 13 or larger deep dish casserole pan with non stick cooking spray. Set aside. Prepare pasta, not quite al dente.
- 2. In a large skillet, add 2 - 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Over medium heat, combine ground beef, sausage, pepperoni, onion, green pepper, garlic and seasonings until vegetables are tender and beef, sausage are cooked through. Drain; return to pan.
- 3. Now, stir in the tomato paste.
- 4. Add the sauce and brown sugar. Cover and simmer for 30 - 40 minutes. Stirring occasionally(If getting too thick; stir in the 1/2 - 3/4 cup water to thin out, you don't want the sauce too thin, but not too thick either.)
- 5. In a large bowl; mix together cooked / drained pasta, ricotta, 2 cups mozzarella, and Parmesan.
- 6. In prepared baking dish or pan; coat bottom with about 1 cup sauce. Now, add about 3 cups pasta/cheese mixture. Spread evenly.
- 7. Now, add 2 - 2 1/2 cups meat sauce; spread evenly.
- 8. Repeat layers, ending with sauce.
- 9. Place the mozzarella slices evenly on top of the sauce. I then placed the saved pepperoni on top of the cheese. Optional Bake the Cavatini 30 - 45 minutes, or until browning and bubbly.
- 10. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
- 11. I served this with a tossed salad, and crusty Italian bread. Tastes like lasagna, but without the fuss...delish!!!

- 1. Brown beef, onions and peppers. Cook until onions are clear, drain. While beef is cooking cook the pasta.
- 2. Once the beef is browned, add the spaghetti sauce and the pepperoni. Drain pasta and mix with meat sauce.
- 3. Mix mozz. cheese and cottage cheese together.
- 4. Put down a layer of noodles and beef, then a layer of cheese. Then the rest of the noodles and beef. While doing all of this, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- 5. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
