1/2 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup old-fashioned or quick-cooking oats
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional
FILLING:
4-1/2 cups coarsely chopped peeled tart apples
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 package (11 ounces) caramels
3 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter, shortening and brown sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add flour, oats, salt and baking soda; mix well. If desired, stir in pecans. Set aside 2 cups. Press remaining oat mixture into an ungreased 13x9-in. baking pan. , For filling, toss apples with flour; spoon over the crust. In a saucepan, melt the caramels and butter over low heat; drizzle over apples. Top with the reserved oat mixture. , Bake at 400° until lightly browned, 25-30 minutes. Cool before cutting into bars.

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup cold butter, cubed
2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar, divided
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
3 medium tart apples, peeled and finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
STREUSEL:
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1/3 cup cold butter, cubed
1/3 cup hot caramel ice cream topping

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a small bowl, combine flour and brown sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Press into a well-greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake 15-18 minutes or until lightly browned., Meanwhile, in a large bowl, beat cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar and vanilla until smooth. Add eggs; beat on low speed just until combined. Spread over crust., In a small bowl, toss apples with cinnamon, nutmeg and remaining sugar; spoon over cream cheese layer. In another bowl, mix flour, brown sugar and oats; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apple layer., Bake 25-30 minutes or until filling is set. I have been making these for about 10 years and have had many requests for the recipe. They are easy to make and disappear so quickly, if you don't grab one you might miss your chance! Serve immediately or refrigerate. Bars cut more easily if refrigerated first.

1 (18 ounce) package refrigerated sugar cookie dough
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
⅔ cup packed brown sugar
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
½ cup cinnamon chips
2 large yellow apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1 teaspoon cinnamon sugar, or to taste
⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Press cookie dough into the bottom of a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until light-golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely.
  • Mix cream cheese, brown sugar, and vanilla extract together in a bowl until smooth; fold in cinnamon chips. Spread cream cheese mixture over cooled cookie and layer with apple slices. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar and nutmeg over apple slice layer. Cut into squares.

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups quick cooking oats
1 ½ cups packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 ¼ cups butter, melted
2 cups apples - peeled, cored and sliced
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 ½ cups caramel ice cream topping
½ cup all-purpose flour

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 15x10 inch jellyroll pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, quick cooking oats, brown sugar, and baking soda. Stir in the melted butter. Mix until crumbly. This is the crust. Press 1/2 of this mixture into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 8 minutes in preheated oven.
  • In a small pan, over medium heat combine the caramel topping and the remaining 1/2 cup of flour. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. This is the caramel filling.
  • Spread apple slices evenly over the baked crust. Sprinkle on the nuts. Then Pour the caramel filling over the apple layer. Crumble the remaining crust mixture over the top of everything. Bake again for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool before cutting into bars.

1 1/3 cups quick-cooking oats
2/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 cup cold butter, cut up
5 medium cooking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand® Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 (12 1/4 oz.) jar Smucker's® Caramel Flavored Topping, divided
1 cup chopped walnuts
Vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • HEAT oven to 350 degrees F. Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and nutmeg in large bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Reserve 1 3/4 cups crumb mixture; press remaining crumb mixture onto bottom of an ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Bake 15 minutes.
  • ARRANGE apples over partially baked crust. Mix sweetened condensed milk and 1/2 cup caramel topping until blended. Pour evenly over apples. Add walnuts to reserved crumb mixture; sprinkle over apple layer.
  • BAKE 45 to 50 minutes or until apples are tender. Cool in pan on wire rack. Serve warm topped with vanilla ice cream and remaining caramel topping.

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 medium cooking apples, peeled and sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (or my sweet spice blend Sweet Spice Blend)
1 cup boiling water
sweetened whipped cream (optional) or ice cream (optional)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350ºF.
  • Mix Bisquick and granulated sugar in medium bowl.
  • Stir in milk until blended.
  • Pour into ungreased square pan, 9x9x2 inches.
  • Top with apples; sprinkle with lemon juice.
