HOT APPLE PUNCH

With its soothing cinnamon seasoning, this fresh and flavorful apple punch is a must for Christmastime.

2 cinnamon sticks (about 3 inches each), broken
10 whole cloves
6 whole allspice or 2 whole nutmeg
2 quarts apple juice
Additional cinnamon sticks, optional

Steps:

  • Place the cinnamon sticks, cloves and allspice on a double thickness of cheesecloth; bring up the corners and tie with string to form a bag. Place in a large saucepan with apple juice (or place loose spices in pan and strain before serving). Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove spice bag. Serve punch hot in mugs. Garnish with cinnamon sticks if desired.

2 liters lemon-lime soda, divided
2 quarts peppermint stick ice cream
Miniature candy canes, optional

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, melt jelly with 2 cups soda. Chill the jelly mixture and remaining soda. Just before serving, place 6 cups ice cream in a punch bowl. Gently stir in jelly mixture. Add remaining soda. Add remaining ice cream by scoopfuls. Garnish with candy canes if desired.

2 medium Apples
A mandolin for slicing
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Water
3 drops of Cinnamon Extract..or to taste
5 drops of Red Food Coloring..or to your liking!

Steps:

  • Slice the Apples. Bring the sugar, water, extract and food coloring to a boil (stirring constantly) in a medium pot and gently add in the Apple Slices... Let them simmer for approx 15 minutes or until they're translucent. With tongs, transfer them one at ta time onto a wire rack over a baking sheet and lay them in a single layer. Bake them at 350 for approx. 15 minutes... Let them cool on some parchment until they nice and get crispy.
