Steps:
- Pour 1 cup of half and half into a small ziploc bag.
- Add 1.5 teaspoons of vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of sugar.
- Seal the bag firmly and get any excess air out.
- In the larger ziploc bag, fill it about 1/2 way with ice. Add 1/4 cup of salt.
- Then add your small bag and fill with extra ice on top. Seal the large bag.
- Get gloves for shaking and shake for 6 minutes. *Gloves are needed since the salt makes the ice extra cold.
- Take the small bag out of the large bag and rinse the outside of the small bag with cold water. Make sure to rinse out the top part of the bag also (above the seal).
- Once done rinsing, carefully open the small bag to not get any remaining salt from the outside of the bag inside the bag.
- The ice cream will be a little icy looking to start. Use a spoon to mix it around and soften it up a bit. Scoop out and enjoy!

HOW TO MAKE ICE CREAM IN A BAG NO COOKING! NO ICE CREAM MACHINE
This is a delicious, fun way to make ice cream! The kids love this and it's such a wonderful way to create a group activity! It's great for a camp-out or a birthday party! I don't know who has the most fun, the adults or the kids! Note: You may use fat-free milk and/or fat-free half and half if you choose. You may add broken cookies, small pieces of chocolate, or small pieces of fruit to the mix before, or after, but doing it after, you'll have to do it quickly, or you will have an ice cream puddle. The "squishing" time is in the "cooking" time. For the sake of the computer, the anmount of ice will be more than you need! Source: Allrecipes

Steps:
- For each child you will need:.
- 2 pint-size resealable plastic freezer bags.
- 1 gallon-size resealable plastic freezer bag.
- Gloves or towel to protect fingers.
- In a pitcher or large measuring cup, stir together the whipping cream, half-and-half, sugar, and vanilla extract until sugar has dissolved.
- Pour about 1/2 cup of mixture into a pint-size plastic bag and seal carefully, squeezing out extra air. Place each sealed bag into a second pint-size bag, again squeezing out extra air. Seal carefully.
- Fill each gallon-size plastic bag about halfway with ice and add 1/2 cup coarse salt. Place one sealed small bag into the large bag, squeeze out most of the air, and seal the large bag.
- Wear mittens or thick gloves, or wrap the bag in a towel to protect hands against the extreme cold. Shake and massage the bag for about 5 minutes or until mixture thickens into ice cream. Add more salt and ice to the outer bag if ice cream hasn't formed after 10 minutes of continuous motion.
- Remove the outer pint-size bag before you open the inner bag so you don't get any of the salty ice on your ice cream!

CAMPING MADE EASY: TIN CAN ICE CREAM
Imagine being in the wilderness, camping with your family, and the nearest town is an hour away. It is hot and the kids are restless and all you hear is "I'm bored... there's nothing to do". Well, your coolers are stocked with food, beverages, and of course, ice... Why not exclaim "Who wants some Ice Cream"?! Well, it can be done without leaving your campsite with just a few simple things on hand. (I have an alternative option for Recipe #509907 that works just as well). Chocolate syrup or a different flavored extract (such as mint) can be added to change this up. Your choice. This is great to use at a children's birthday party, also. The kids can make there own ice cream to go with the birthday cake. I hope you and your family find this fun and enjoyable. *Note: Cook time is rolling/freezing time.

Steps:
- You will need:.
- 1 - 1 pound coffee can with plastic lid (label removed and washed).
- 1 - 3 pound coffee can with plastic lid (label removed and washed).
- cling wrap.
- Preparation:.
- In smaller coffee can thoroughly combine the first 5 ingredients. Place a piece of cling wrap over the top of the can and securely add the plastic lid.
- Place the small can inside the large can.
- Fill around small can half way up with crushed ice, then add half of the rock salt (approx 1/8 cup). Fill almost to the top with more crushed ice and add the remaining 1/8 cup rock salt. Leave about 3/4" space at the top of can. Cover the large can with cling wrap and securely place the plastic lid on it, also.
- Have 2 children sit across from one another at the picnic table (opposite ends), and roll the can between them, at a fast pace. (Just be sure they don't roll it crazily and it flies off the table).
- After 10 minutes of rolling, open the large can, but DO NOT remove the small can. Open the small can and give it a stir. Close both cans back up and continue another 10 minutes of vigorous rolling. Again, open the large can leaving the small one in place and stir. Seal them both back up and roll for 10 minutes longer and the ice cream will be done. Sometimes the ice cream is firm enough to eat at the 20 minute mark, so it is your choice when to serve it.
- Enjoy this fun activity and delicious snack!
