BOURBON HOT DOGS
I got this grownup hot dog recipe from a girl I attend church with. They were always gone in no time at family functions. You need to let them sit for a day or two to take on the flavor, and inexpensive hot dogs are key here.... they make a better product!

- Grill, steam or boil the hot dogs. In the meantime, heat the Chili until hot throughout.
- Place each hot dog in a bun, then top with a generous amount of the Chili, Bourbon-Bacon Slaw and yellow mustard.
- In a stockpot or Dutch oven, combine the beef (do not brown first), chili powder, sugar, salt, pepper, garlic salt, tomato sauce, tomato paste, onion and 2 cups water. Mix until combined, then add the bay leaves. Bring to a simmer, lower the heat to medium low, cover and simmer for about 2 hours.

Pour the dressing over the coleslaw mix in a large bowl and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours and up to 6 hours. Just before serving, stir in the bacon.
BOURBON HOT DOGS
These are fantastic. Most times you go to a party and there are hot dogs sitting in some kind of sauce and they are mushy. These are firm and great tasting. Once you make these, you'll taste the difference. They take a little extra time, but they are worth it. Again, the longer you simmer them, the better they get.

Steps:
- 1. Cut hot dogs into bite size pieces. Mix all together in pot. Heat to medium then turn heat down to low and cook for a 10 hours (or 5 hrs today and 5 hrs tomorrow), stirring frequently (sauce with be thick). Taste until they are no longer mushy. The longer you cook these the better they get. Don't worry, the alcohol will cook off.
- 2. They can also be put in a crockpot. Cook on low for 8-9 hours, stirring frequently. Cook until hot dogs are firm.
- 3. Keep warm and serve with toothpicks.

BOURBON HOT DOGS
I have had a crookpot of these for every Christmas Eve for many years. My boys all insist. Other dishes change but this is always there. Sometimes after all the hotdogs are gone, I save the sauce and the next day or so I add more hotdogs and have some more when the kids stop by. Most all of the alcohol cooks out of them so they...
