BEST PRESSURE COOKER STICKY BBQ RIBS EVER

Best Pressure Cooker Sticky BBQ Ribs Ever image

It's time to give back to the Allrecipes community for all they have given to me. This recipe is the culmination of learning how to make BBQ ribs for competition, plus learning from my family members who are all pressure cooker experts. The end result, after years of trial and error, will have everybody licking their fingers in complete ecstasy. You can save a few teaspoons of BBQ sauce, throw it into 2 boxes of mac and cheese, and serve the ribs alongside.

Time 1h10m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 quarts apple cider
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 racks baby back ribs, cut into individual ribs
2 (12 ounce) bottles BBQ sauce
6 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce

Steps:

  • Pour apple cider into an 8-quart multi-functional electric pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot®) to about 1/2 inch below the rack line. Stir in garlic powder, salt, paprika, and pepper. Place rack inside and heat the liquid completely; place ribs on rack.
  • Close and lock the lid. Select high pressure according to manufacturer's instructions; set timer for 27 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking pan with a roasting rack.
  • Pour about 2 cups BBQ sauce into a large cup. Add garlic, brown sugar, and chili sauce. Mix with a hand blender until completely smooth. Combine with the remaining BBQ sauce in a large bowl. Set aside to come to room temperature.
  • Release pressure carefully using the quick-release method according to manufacturer's instructions, about 5 minutes.
  • Remove ribs carefully and drain cooking liquid. Fully submerge each rib into the BBQ sauce. Place on the roasting rack so they are not touching. Brush extra BBQ sauce on top to make them extra sticky.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until sauce is set, 15 to 20 minutes.

Yield Makes 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 1/2 tablespoons kosher salt
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
8 pounds baby back pork ribs (8 racks) or St. Louis-style spareribs (4 racks)
Low-salt chicken broth (optional)
1 1/2 cups store-bought or homemade barbecue sauce plus more

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine first 5 ingredients in a small bowl. Place each rack of ribs on a double layer of foil; sprinkle rub all over ribs. Wrap racks individually and divide between 2 baking sheets.
  • Bake ribs until very tender but not falling apart, about 2 hours for baby backs and 3 hours for spareribs. Carefully unwrap ribs; pour any juices from foil into a 4-cup heatproof measuring cup; reserve juices. Let ribs cool completely. DO AHEAD: Ribs can be baked up to 3 days ahead (the flavor will be more developed, and the cold ribs will hold together better on the grill as they heat through). Cover and chill juices. Rewrap ribs in foil and chill.
  • Build a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill, or heat a gas grill to high. Add broth or water to rib juices, if needed, to measure 1 1/2 cups. Whisk in barbecue sauce to blend.
  • Grill ribs, basting with barbecue sauce mixture and turning frequently, until lacquered and charred in places and heated through, 7-10 minutes. Transfer to a cutting board; cut between ribs to separate. Transfer to a platter and serve with additional barbecue sauce.

Provided by Holley Mc

Categories     Pork

Time 4h

Yield 4-6 depends on size of rack, 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 16

2 racks of baby-back pork ribs
3 tablespoons mustard powder
3 tablespoons onion powder
3 tablespoons garlic powder
3 tablespoons ground allspice
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon cayenne powder
3 tablespoons Lawry's Seasoned Salt
1 tablespoon kosher salt
2 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper
1 (18 ounce) bottle hickory flavored barbecue sauce
1 (18 ounce) bottle honey-flavored barbecue sauce
3/4 cup light brown sugar
6 garlic cloves, finely chopped
3 tablespoons liquid smoke flavoring
3/4 cup apple cider vinegar

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 325°F.
  • Wash ribs and pat dry with paper towels. Set on rimmed baking sheet or in a large roasted pan. Place mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, allspice powder, chili powder, cayenne, Lowry's seasoned salt, salt and pepper in a gallon-sized re-closable plastic bag, or a pizza spice shaker container, and shake vigorously to mix well. Pour half seasoned rub mixture onto one side of the ribs and massage into flesh. Turn ribs over and pour the remaining rub mixture onto other side of ribs and massage into flesh. Cover ribs fully with a large sheet of heavy duty tin foil, rolling edges of foil under and into baking sheet to make an air proof seal. I leave them in the frige overnight to merinate well. I don't know if this is what makes them so tender, but they are! Place in oven and cook for 3 hours.
  • Remove from oven, carefully unseal foil - keep your hands and face a way from the hot steam. Heat grill to high. Place barbecue sauces, brown sugar, garlic, liquid smoke and cider vinegar into a medium-sized sauce pan, stir to combine. Using a large pastry brush, baste generously with sauce. Place sauce over medium-high heat, bring to a boil, then lower heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside. Place ribs on grill and cook, about 4-6 minutes a side, 8-12 minutes total.
  • Remove to a cutting board, cut into 2-3 rib portions, place on serving platter and serve with remaining barbecue sauce on the side.

THE BEST EVER BBQ PORK RIBS

The Best Ever BBQ Pork Ribs image

BBQ Ribs are my passion!!! I've tried several different rib recipes & I have an earlier Rib recipe posted on Zaar, but this even beats that one!!! First of all, DO NOT BOIL RIBS!!!...it takes away the flavor & is just plain WRONG!!! Second, they shouldn't "fall-off-the-bone"...they should be tender, but sort of "SNAP-OFF" the bone!!! Third, everyone has their own favorite "rub" & "sauce"...give Recipe #410170 and/or Recipe #268574 or use whatever works best for YOU!!! I prefer my ribs smoked, but that's me. These ribs are good either way!!! You can mop them with sauce is desired, but I prefer not to. PLEASE READ DIRECTIONS COMPLETELY.

Provided by Ackman

Categories     Pork

Time 2h15m

Yield 2-4 half racks, 4-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 -2 pork rib rack (Baby Back or St. Louis)
seasoning (Rib Rub)
barbecue sauce (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 275°.
  • Cut ribs in half & generously apply rub on both sides, massaging it into the meat.
  • Wrap each half tightly in heavy duty aluminum foil.
  • Place each in a shallow pan with sides.
  • Bake for 3 hours.
  • Serve with your favorite sauce.
  • NOTE: If you want them BROWNED, carefully remove the ribs from the foil. Place under broiler or on grill until desired, but watch carefully so not to burn -- 10-12 minutes each side should be sufficient.
  • NOTE 2: If you want them SMOKED, carefully remove the ribs from the foil. Place on grill, using indirect method -- smoke for about an hour. I recommend Apple or Hickory.
  • DO NOT soak wood chips/chunks in water! Wood doesn't absorb much water, so all you're doing is cooling off the coals.
  • ENJOY!

BEST-EVER COUNTRY-STYLE RIBS

Best-Ever Country-Style Ribs image

I found this recipe years ago in a magazine and it has become a favorite. They are not only the best-ever, but also the easiest-ever. These finger-licking ribs start with a dry spice rub and end with an out-of-this-world sauce. And, they have one other distinct advantage: They're cooked mostly in advance, so they require very little last-minute tending. For a finishing touch, all you need to do is give them a quick crisping on the grill (or under the broiler.) Preparation time does not include marinating.

Provided by Alan in SW Florida

Categories     Pork

Time 1h10m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 tablespoons dry rub seasonings, recipe follows (I usually use a little more)
4 lbs country-style pork ribs (I prefer bone-in, but you could use boneless)
3 cups ketchup
1 1/2 cups beer (beer is better) or 1 1/2 cups water (beer is better)
3/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon prepared mustard (such as French's yellow mustard)
2 tablespoons brown sugar (light or dark, doesn't matter)
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Rub Dry Rub all over ribs. Place in a glass baking dish; cover and refrigerate several hours or, even better, overnight.
  • Stir together ketchup, beer (or water), vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar (add more, if you like your sauce sweeter), oregano, basil, thyme, and pepper in a medium-size bowl.
  • Transfer ribs to a 5-quart Dutch oven. Reserve 1 cup sauce for basting later; pour remainder over ribs. Cover pot and cook the ribs over low heat for about 45 minutes or until ribs are tender. (Ribs may be prepared up to a day ahead and refrigerated.).
  • Prepare grill or heat broiler. Remove ribs from sauce; discard sauce. Spread ribs with half the reserved sauce.
  • Cook ribs over medium coals (or medium direct heat on a gas grill) or broil until crispy and browned, about 5 minutes. Turn ribs over. Spread with remaining sauce. Cook 5 minutes more.
  • DRY RUB for COUNTRY-STYLE RIBS: Combine 2 tablespoons salt, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons dried lemon peel (found in the spice section of your supermarket), 3 tablespoons black pepper, and 1 tablespoon paprika in a small bowl. Store unused dry rub in an airtight container in a cool, dark place.

BEST-EVER BUFFALO RACK O' RIBS HERO

Best-Ever Buffalo Rack o' Ribs Hero image

This meaty marvel is the perfect marriage of Buffalo wings and classic barbecue ribs, all packed into a tender French loaf--plus no sticky fingers!

Provided by Roger Mooking

Categories     main-dish

Time 2h15m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 rack meaty baby back ribs (about 2 pounds)
3 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon seasoning salt, such as Lawry's® Seasoned Salt
4 tablespoons hot sauce, such as Frank's RedHot®, plus more for spreading and serving, optional
One 12- to 14-inch soft French loaf (not a baguette), split
Olive oil, for the bread
Seasoning salt, such as Lawry's® Seasoned Salt, for the bread
Coarsely ground black pepper
1/4 small red onion, thinly sliced
1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (1 ounce), such as Gorgonzola

Steps:

  • For the ribs: Prepare a grill for direct and indirect heat: For gas grills (with 3 or more burners), turn all the burners to medium-high heat; after about 15 minutes, turn off one of the side burners and turn the remaining burners down to medium. For charcoal grills, bank one chimney starter-full of lit and ashed-over charcoal briquettes to one side of the grill. Set up a drip pan on the other side to avoid flare-ups. (Be sure to consult the grill manufacturer's guide for best results.) If your grill has a thermometer, aim to keep the temperature at about 350 degrees F throughout grilling.
  • Insert a butter knife between the membrane and bone on the back of the rack of ribs. Grab the membrane with a paper towel to grip it, then pull off the membrane and discard. Sprinkle both sides of the ribs with the brown sugar and seasoning salt and rub it in. Wrap the ribs tightly in aluminum foil and set on the indirect-heat side of the grill. Cook, turning the package once, until the meat is tender and pulling away from the bone but not totally falling apart, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Remove from the grill but leave the grill on.
  • For the slaw: Meanwhile, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, seasoning salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper in a medium bowl. Add the cabbage, carrot, celery, celery leaves and parsley and toss to combine. Season with additional seasoning salt and pepper if needed.
  • Unwrap the ribs and let cool until you can touch the ribs without burning your fingers. With a knife, slit the skin on the back of the ribs and carefully pull out the bones, keeping the slab in one piece. (Use the knife to help hold down the meat while pulling out the bones.)
  • Move the boneless slab to the direct-heat side of the grill, rounded-side up, and brush the top with 2 tablespoons of the hot sauce. Grill until the underside begins to crisp, about 2 minutes. Carefully flip the slab and brush the top with the remaining 2 tablespoons hot sauce. Continue to grill the ribs until they're glossy and caramelized, 2 to 3 minutes more.
  • For the sandwich: Scoop out most of the soft insides of the top of the French loaf to make room for the toppings. Brush the cut sides with oil and sprinkle with seasoning salt and pepper. Grill on the direct-heat side of the grill until the bread has grill marks and is nicely toasted, about 3 minutes.
  • Place the ribs on the bottom of the loaf, brush with additional hot sauce, if desired, and top with the slaw, onions and blue cheese. Top with the top of the loaf. Cut into 4 pieces. Serve with extra hot sauce on the side.

BEST BBQ RIBS EVER

Best BBQ Ribs Ever image

YES, there are alot of steps in making BBQ ribs and a great sauce to go with it, and YES they are always worth the work. Everyone has their own taste of what is great and what is mediocre. You just have to experiment with your sauces until you get it right. Well I finally got it just about right. LOL!! My boyfriend Marvin liked it and he ate every bite and my picky son and his girlfriend also helped to finish what was left of the ribs. So I must have done something right this time. Next time I will have to buy 8 lbs of ribs so I can have seconds.

EASIEST BEST EVER BABY BACK RIBS....

easiest best ever baby back ribs.... image

this is the "ask for" recipe from everyone the kids on their birthdays to friends and family that want me to "bring something".. the meat falls right off the bone... and it dosen't matter whats goin on as soon as I serve these ribs all is quiet...

Provided by Shannon Stapleton

Categories     Ribs

Time 5h30m

Number Of Ingredients 3

2 racks of pork baby back ribs
old bay seasoning
bbq sauce to taste

Steps:

  • 1. preheat oven to 200 degrees first take racks our of their packaging and dry them off with paper towel. place them on a cookie sheet or baking sheet arch side up . sprinkle lightly with old bay seasoning. cover with *plastic wrap* to make a seal . then over the plastic wrap put aluminum foil making sure none of the plastic wrap is sticking out. put into the oven for 4 hours they will steam in the plastic wrap. make sure to check them at about 2 hours to make sure the plastic has not come off. if so. just wrap tighter with foil and reduce heat to 175 degrees. continue cooking till the 4 hours are up. preheat your grill. pull the ribs out of the oven. place ribs onto grill arch side down turn down heat for 5 mins (at this time you can add your favorite BBQ sauce or homemade glaze or keep them dry) I recomend only lightly covering the ribs with sauce just enough to get the flavor and carmelization of the sugar. too much sauce will ruin the ribs flavor.. turn ribs over and cook for 5 mins then they are done..

Categories     Pork

Yield 6-8 racks

Number Of Ingredients 17

FOR THE RUB:
3 tbsp sweet paprika
3 tbsp pure chili powder
2 tpsp freshly ground black pepper
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp dried thyme
2 tsp dried oregano
2 tsp yellow mustard seeds
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp celery seed
1 tsp cayenne pepper
FOR THE MOP SAUCE:
1 cup distilled white vinegar
2 tbsp of the rub
1 tsp salt

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the grill to medium high (bring down to medium if you have a problem with ribs burning) 2. Make the rub 3. Make the mop sauce. Put vinegar, salt and rub in nonreactive bowl, add 1 cup of water and whisk until salt dissovles (set aside) 4. Remove thin papery skin on the back of each rack of ribs. To do so, tick the tip of your knife under the membrane and pull off the membrane (fishing plyers work great). Generously season ribs al over with salt and pepper. 5. Place the ribs on the hot grill, bone side down and grill until that side is golden brown, about 25-30 minutes. Turn the ribs over and then grill the meat side until golden brown, which usually take another 30 minutes. Check often and reduce fire if it flames up. Make sure they are not burning. 6. Transfer ribs to a cutting board or platter. Generously brush or mop the ribs on both sides with the mop sauce and then thickly sprinkle the meat side with the remaining rub to form a crust. 7. Serve with the remaining mop sauce or your favorite bbq sauce. 8. enjoy!

1/2 cup water
1/2 cup plus 2 Tb. brown sugar
1/2 cup mustard
1/4 cup sweet smoked paprika
1/4 cup chili powder
2 Tb salt
2 Tb peach flavored gelatin powder
1 Tb worcestershire sauce
1 cup apple juice
1/2 cup honey
1 stick butter(4 oz)
1/2 cup store BBQ sauce

  • Spread first 8 ingredients over four 1 1/2 pound baby back ribs and grill over indirect heat for 2 1/2 hours. Then top with a rib rack-meaty side down. Fold and wrap with another sheet of foil. Grill the packets for 1 hour. Unwrap and grill, meaty side up for 30 minutes.
