BEST STRAWBERRY LEMONADE EVER
Strawberry lemonade is a very refreshing drink and this is my version of the best one ever! So refreshing on a hot summer day! Serve chilled.

Steps:
- Mix strawberries and 1/4 cup sugar together in a bowl; set aside for juices to release from strawberries, 5 to 10 minutes.
- Bring 1 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan; add 3/4 cup sugar. Cook and stir sugar mixture until sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove saucepan from heat and cool simple syrup to room temperature.
- Stir simple syrup, 6 cups water, lemon juice, and ice together in a pitcher. Add sweetened strawberries and stir.

- Wash lemons under warm water. Roll them on the countertop with the palm of your hand to get them ready for juicing. Cut the lemons in half through their bellies. Juice lemons using either your hands or a juicer, reserving 2 lemon halves. Add the lemon juice to a pitcher. Add sugar and water and stir until sugar has completely dissolved. Add ice cubes and the reserved lemon halves.

The name says it all! Takes some effort but well worth it. The recipe comes from Always in Season by the Junior League of Salt Lake City.

- Scrub the lemons well and cut into halves. Place into a large heat resistant pitcher. Add the sugar.
- Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Pour it over the lemons, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Cool for 20 minutes. Squeeze the juice from the lemons into the pitcher and discard the lemons. Strain the lemonade into another pitcher and chill until serving time.
- Serve over ice in tall glasses with a garnish of mint. Add a dash of grenadine for pink lemonade.

This is delicious. It takes very little time to make and it is really worth it. Most lemonades are very sweet and you can't usually taste the lemony flavor, but this is all lemon!!!!!

- Squeeze juice from lemons into a bowl. Set lemon rinds aside; strain lemon juice into a large pitcher.
- Add sugar and ice water; stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Set aside. Place lemon rinds in a bowl and add boiling water. Let stand until water is cold. Discard rinds, add water to picher and stir well. Refrigerate until well chilled.

This is from one of my first Good House Keeping cookbooks. You must use a *zester* in order to avoid getting any of that bitter rind, and when you zest the lemons, zest them onto some sugar from the recipe (the sugar will 'catch' all of the oils). I also advise you from personal experience to use only the best skinned lemons for the best flavor.

- Into a 1 quart Jar with tight fitting lid, put sugar and lemon peel, or zest; add 1 1/2 cups very hot water (not from tap!). With lid fitted firmly, shake jar until sugar is dissolved.

For each glass of lemonade use 1/4 cup of syrup with a cup of fizzy water or plain water. To make lemonade ice cubes, stir 2 tablespoons of syrup per cup of water and freeze as lemonade ice cubes.
