NOT SO SWEET BAKED HAM

Not So Sweet Baked Ham image

Traditionally, ham is rubbed with brown sugar and other sweet ingredients. I like my ham to taste like ham and I like my recipes to be simple. Here's an easy recipe that I'm sure your whole family will enjoy.

BAKED HAM

Baked Ham image

My family loves ham like this. Sweetly seasoned ham roasted with moist heat is a delicious way to celebrate special occasions. If using a pre-cooked ham, follow the directions on the package for baking times.

BAKED HAM FOR DIABETICS

Baked Ham for Diabetics image

Rather than having Turkey again at Christmas we normally bake a ham. The following is my personal recipe. I read several and then decided to do the ham this way.

Time 4h10m

Yield 18 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

6 lbs ham (I use fully cooked boneless)
1 (12 ounce) can diet pepsi
4 pineapple rings

Steps:

  • Unwrap ham and place in roasting pan with lid.
  • Place your pineapple rings on top, securing with toothpicks.
  • Pour the can of diet Pepsi over top of the ham, cover and bake approximately 4.5 hours or until internal temp reaches 140°F.
  • Remove from oven and let rest at least 15 minutes.
  • Slice and serve.
  • Note: the cooking time includes the resting time. I would think that this would turn out to be lower carb and sugar than the normal baked ham with the fruity sauces.
