Number Of Ingredients 9

4 large garlic heads, unpeeled
2.5 cupls butter thinly sliced
.25 cup olive oil
2 to 2.5 cups chicken broth
2 c sundried tomatoes
.75 tbs dried fines herbes
pepper
6 oz goat cheese
fresh basil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Slice 1/4 inch off tops of garlic heads (opposite root end). Remove any loose outer paper skin. Place garlic cut side up in medium baking dish. Arrange butter slices evenly over garlic. Pour oil over. Add 2 cups broth to dish. Arrange sundried tomatoes around garlic. Sprinkle fines herbes over. Season w pepper. Bake until garlic and sundried tomatoes are tender, basting with broth every 15 minutesa and adding more broth if necessary to maintain some sauce in pan, about 1 hour 15 minutes. Arrange goat cheese around pan and continue baking until cheese is almost melted, about 10 minutes. Garnish w basil. Serve w Italian bread.

4 large garlic heads,(not elephant garlic), unpeeled
21/2 tablespoons butter, thinly sliced
1/4 cup olive oil
2 to 21/2 cups chicken broth
2 cups sun-dried tomatoes
3/4 teaspoon fines herbes
black pepper
6 ounces goat cheese, sliced
fresh basil leaves
1 large baguette, sliced and toasted

Steps:

  • Preheat over to 375 degrees. Slice 1/4 inch off tops of garlic heads (opposite root end). Remove any loose outer papery skin. Place garlic cut side up in medium baking dish. Arrange butter slices evenly over garlic. Pour oil over top. Add 2 cups broth to dish. Arrange sun-dried tomatoes around garlic. Sprinkle fines herbes over, and season with pepper. Bake until garlic and sun-dried tomatoes are tender, basting with broth every 15 minutes and adding more broth if necessary to maintain some liquid in pan, (about 1 hour, 15 minutes). Arrange goat cheese around garlic and continue baking until cheese is almost melted, about 10 minutes. Garnish with basil Serve with toasted baguette slices.
