Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 medium orange, cut into quarters
1 lemon, juiced and zested
1 cup orange juice
¼ cup rice vinegar
¼ cup soy sauce
¼ cup maple syrup
¼ cup honey
4 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger root
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
4 green onions, cut into 1/4-inch pieces
2 pounds flank steak

Steps:

  • Combine orange pieces, lemon juice, lemon zest, orange juice, rice vinegar, soy sauce, maple syrup, honey, garlic cloves, ginger, pepper, and cayenne pepper in a blender; blend until marinade is smooth. Mix in green onions.
  • Place flank steak into a shallow baking dish and pour marinade over meat, making sure marinade gets underneath the meat as well. Cover the dish, refrigerate, and marinate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  • Remove steak from the refrigerator and allow to come to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before grilling. Lift up steak from the dish to let juices run off; reserve marinade.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Cook flank steak on the preheated grill until it begins to firm and is reddish-pink and juicy in the center, 5 to 7 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 130 degrees F (54 degrees C).
  • Cover steak and set aside to rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  • While steak is resting, pour remaining marinade in a saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Cook until sauce is reduced, about 5 minutes. Serve with the flank steak.

Asian grilled flank steak recipes are perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a dinner party or a simple family lunch. Flank steak is a popular cut of beef known for its rich flavor and versatility, and it’s perfect for grilling. Asian flavors bring a unique twist to the classic grilled steak, and the marinade used can take the dish to a whole new level. Here’s a look at what makes Asian grilled flank steak so special.

The Cut – Flank steak

Flank steak is taken from the abdominal muscles of the cow and is known for its long, flat shape. This cut of beef has a rich flavor and a slightly chewy texture that’s perfect for grilling. It’s also an affordable cut of meat, making it perfect for budget-friendly meals.

The Marinade

Marinades are used to add depth and flavor to meat, and Asian marinades are particularly flavorful. The traditional Asian marinade is a combination of soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and sometimes honey for sweetness. These ingredients infuse the steak with a bold, complex flavor that’s impossible to resist. Other popular marinades include Korean-style galbi marinade, which uses pear juice for tenderizing the beef, and teriyaki marinade, which combines soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic.

The Grilling Process

Grilling is the ultimate way to cook flank steak, as it helps to caramelize the outside of the meat while locking in the flavors. To grill the perfect flank steak, it’s important to start with a hot grill. The steak should be seasoned with salt and pepper before it’s placed on the grill, and it should be cooked for around 4-5 minutes on each side. Cooking times will vary depending on the thickness of the steak and how well done you like it. Once the steak is cooked, it should be left to rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to settle.

Serving Suggestions

Asian grilled flank steak is delicious on its own, but it can also be served with a variety of sides to create a complete meal. Some popular options include stir-fried vegetables, fried rice, and noodle dishes. The steak can also be sliced thinly and used in sandwiches or salads. The possibilities are endless!
In Conclusion
Asian grilled flank steak is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that’s perfect for any occasion. With a flavorful marinade and a quick grilling time, this dish is sure to become a family favorite. So the next time you’re looking for a hearty and delicious meal, don’t hesitate to whip up some Asian grilled flank steak – your tastebuds will thank you!

Asian grilled flank steak recipes are a popular choice for meat lovers all over the world. Flank steak is a great cut of meat that is perfect for grilling, and when combined with Asian flavors, it creates a delicious meal that is sure to impress. If you’re looking to make an Asian grilled flank steak recipe, there are several tips you should keep in mind to ensure your dish turns out perfectly. In this article, we’ll share some valuable tips that you can use to make an amazing Asian grilled flank steak.

Tip 1: Choose the Right Cut of Meat

The first step in making an amazing Asian grilled flank steak is choosing the right cut of meat. Flank steak is a lean and flavorful cut that is perfect for grilling. When buying flank steak, look for a cut that is bright red and has a smooth texture. Avoid cuts that are dark in color or have any discoloration, as this can be a sign that the meat is no longer fresh.

Tip 2: Marinate the Steak

One of the key components of a great Asian grilled flank steak is a delicious marinade. Marinades are flavorful liquid mixtures that help to tenderize the meat and infuse it with flavor. There are several marinades you can use for an Asian grilled flank steak, such as soy sauce, ginger, and garlic. Marinate the steak for at least an hour or overnight in the refrigerator for the best results. This will give the steak enough time to absorb the flavors of the marinade.

Tip 3: Preheat the Grill

Before grilling your flank steak, it’s important to preheat the grill. This will ensure that the grill is hot enough to sear the steak and create a beautiful crust. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and oil the grates to prevent sticking.

Tip 4: Don’t Overcook the Steak

One of the biggest mistakes people make when grilling flank steak is overcooking it. Flank steak is a lean cut of meat, which means it can easily become tough and chewy if overcooked. To achieve a perfectly cooked steak, grill the flank steak for 5-6 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the steak, which should reach 130°F for medium-rare.

Tip 5: Let the Steak Rest

After grilling, it’s important to let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a moist and flavorful steak. Cover the steak with foil and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Tip 6: Slice Against the Grain

When slicing the flank steak, it’s important to cut against the grain. The grain refers to the muscle fibers in the steak, and cutting against it will result in a more tender and juicy piece of meat. To identify the direction of the grain, look for lines running across the width of the steak. Cut perpendicular to these lines for the best results.

Tip 7: Serve with Accompaniments

An Asian grilled flank steak is delicious on its own, but it can be even better when served with complementary accompaniments. You can serve the steak with a side of steamed rice, grilled vegetables, or a fresh salad. You can also drizzle a flavorful sauce over the steak, such as a soy-ginger glaze or a spicy chili sauce.
Conclusion
Making an Asian grilled flank steak can seem intimidating, but with these valuable tips, it’s easy to create a delicious and impressive meal. By choosing the right cut of meat, marinating the steak, preheating the grill, not overcooking the steak, letting it rest, cutting against the grain, and serving it with complementary accompaniments, you can create an amazing Asian grilled flank steak that will impress your family and friends.
