ASIAN CHICKEN BURGERS

Nice flavors. I normally do not have to use an egg and breadcrumbs for these burgers. If your ground chicken is very dry or crumbly add an egg and a 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs. Nice served on a bun with lettuce, stir-fried beansprouts, teaspoon of soy sauce and sesame seeds. As a topping we use sour cream.

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 19

8 oz boneless, skinless chicken breast
1/4 c shredded carrots
1 green onion, minced - green tops too
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 Tbsp rice vinegar
salt & pepper
tomato slices, red cabbage shredded, cucumber sliced thin - these are just what i used, you can use whatever you prefer
toasted buns or i used toasted french bread
SAUCE
1 1/2 Tbsp sour cream
1 Tbsp mayonnaise
1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp sriracha sauce or less if preferred
1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp dijon mustard

Steps:

  • 1. Make sauce : Whisk all sauce ingredients until smooth. Cover & refrigerate until ready to use.
  • 2. In a food processor, add chicken breast and pulse until chicken is ground. ( Or can buy already ground chicken. ) Place in a small bowl. Shred carrots, green onion and garlic in food processor. Add to chicken. Next, add the ginger, soy, sesame oil, ginger, vinegar and mix until well blended.
  • 3. The chicken burgers can either be grilled or broiled. If grilling you will need a grill pan as it is a loose mixture. Spray the grill pan, divide meat mixture in half, shape patties once on the pan. Salt and pepper. Place on rack over medium heat on grill and cook for 6 minutes, then flip to other side and cook another 6 minutes or until juices run clear.
  • 4. I broiled mine today. Spray broiler pan with non stick cooking spray and divide meat mixture in half and pat out meat mixture in the shape of a patty once on pan. Salt & pepper. Place rack in oven about 4 - 6 inches below heat. Cook for 6 - 8 minutes on one side and flip to the other and finish cooking until juices run clear.
  • 5. Butter your bread or bun and toast either on grill or in broiler - I toasted mine right beside the patties. Spread sauce on bottom and top pieces of bread or bun. Add desired condiments. Enjoy! So good!

Making Asian chicken burgers is a great way to enjoy a flavorful and healthy meal that is bursting with delicious Asian flavors. However, creating the perfect Asian chicken burger can be challenging, especially if you are not familiar with the ingredients and techniques required. This article provides valuable tips and tricks to help you make the perfect Asian chicken burger recipe.

Tip 1: Choose the right type of chicken

When making Asian chicken burgers, it is important to choose the right type of chicken. Ground chicken works best because it is both lean and flavorful. However, not all ground chicken is created equal. When choosing your ground chicken, make sure to look for chicken that is fresh, hormone-free, and organic. Additionally, you want chicken that is not too wet or too dry. If the chicken is wet, it will not hold its shape, while if it is too dry, the burger will be tough and dry.

Tip 2: Add flavor with Asian-inspired ingredients

To make your Asian chicken burger truly delicious, consider adding Asian-inspired ingredients to enhance the flavor of the chicken. Some great ingredients to add include minced garlic and ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, sriracha sauce, hoisin sauce, green onions, cilantro, and lime juice. These ingredients will add a depth of flavor to the chicken burger, making it a tasty Asian-inspired dish.

Tip 3: Get the right texture

Texture is an essential aspect of a great burger. To achieve the perfect texture for your Asian chicken burger, make sure to finely chop all of the ingredients you are adding, especially the garlic, ginger, and green onions. This will ensure that the ingredients blend well into the chicken and create a uniform texture. Additionally, consider mixing the ground chicken with some breadcrumbs or panko to help give the burger a more substantial texture.

Tip 4: Cook the burgers properly

To make sure your burgers cook properly, preheat your grill or pan to a medium-high heat. Once the grill or pan is hot, add the burgers and cook for approximately five minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature of the burger reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. When cooking the chicken burger, consider placing a lid over the grill or pan to help retain the moisture and flavors.

Tip 5: Add delicious toppings and condiments

No burger is complete without some delicious toppings and condiments. When making an Asian chicken burger, consider adding some Asian-inspired toppings and condiments, such as sliced avocado, pickled carrots or cucumbers, kimchi, spicy mayo, or teriyaki sauce. These toppings and condiments will add a delicious and unique flavor to your burger, making it a truly Asian-inspired dish.

Tip 6: Serve with the right side dishes

To create the perfect meal, consider serving your Asian chicken burger with some delicious side dishes. Some great side dishes to pair with your burger include steamed rice, Asian-style slaw, grilled vegetables, sweet potato fries, or edamame. These sides will complement the flavors of the burger and create a well-rounded and satisfying meal.
