Time 35m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

2/3 cup panko (Japanese dried bread flakes)
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons good olive oil
Four 6- to 8-ounce salmon fillets, skin on
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Lemon wedges, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the panko, parsley, lemon zest, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Drizzle with the olive oil and stir until the crumbs are evenly coated. Set aside.
  • Place the salmon fillets, skin side down, on a board. Generously brush the top of the fillets with mustard and then sprinkle generously with salt and pepper. Press the panko mixture thickly on top of the mustard on each salmon fillet. The mustard will help the panko adhere.
  • Heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat in a 12-inch cast-iron skillet or large heavy, ovenproof pan. When the oil is very hot, add the salmon fillets, skin side down, and sear for 3 to 4 minutes, without turning, to brown the skin.
  • Transfer the pan to the hot oven for 5 to 7 minutes until the salmon is almost cooked and the panko is browned. Remove from the oven, cover with aluminum foil, and allow to rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve the salmon hot or at room temperature with lemon wedges.

Time 25m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup parsley leaves, chopped
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 pounds skin-on salmon fillet, preferably center-cut
1 tablespoon Dijon

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with foil. Mix the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, 1 teaspoon kosher salt and a generous amount of freshly ground black pepper in a small bowl. Mix the panko with the parsley, butter, 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt and a few grinds of black pepper in another small bowl.
  • Place the salmon skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet and spread the surface with the Dijon. Press the brown sugar mixture all over the salmon then top with the breadcrumb mixture. Crimp all four sides of the foil to create a border around the salmon, this will help collect the juices so they don't spread and burn. Bake until the breadcrumbs are golden brown, and the salmon is firm and flakes easily when pressed, 15 to 18 minutes. Cut into four equal portions for serving.

If you’re looking to mix up your salmon routine and add some variety to your meals, you might want to try making Aquagrills Falafel Crusted Salmon Recipe. This recipe offers a tasty twist on a classic dish that is sure to impress your family and friends. But before you put on your apron, it’s important to know a few key tips and tricks to take your salmon recipe game to the next level.

Tip #1: Choose the right salmon cut

Not all salmon cuts are created equal, and different cuts can result in different cooking times and textures. When it comes to this particular recipe, it’s best to use salmon fillets that are of even thickness to ensure even cooking. You'll also want to pay attention to the type of salmon. For this recipe, it's recommended to use wild-caught salmon, which has a firmer texture and stronger taste than farm-raised salmon.

Tip #2: Spice up your falafel crust with herbs and seasonings

One of the keys to creating a successful falafel crusted salmon recipe is to season the crust well. A falafel crust is already seasoned, but you can take it up a notch with additional fresh herbs and spices. For example, you might try adding a pinch of cumin or coriander to the falafel crust mix for an added burst of flavor. Or, you could finely chop fresh herbs like parsley, dill, or cilantro and mix them into the falafel crust for a bright, herbaceous flavor.

Tip #3: Get your pan hot

One common mistake people make when cooking salmon is not getting the pan hot enough before adding the fish. Starting with a hot pan is key to creating a crispy skin on the salmon and ensuring that it cooks evenly all the way through. Before you add your salmon to the pan, heat it over medium-high heat until it’s hot enough to sizzle when you add a drop of water. Once the pan is hot, add the salmon and let it cook for a few minutes before flipping it over.

Tip #4: Don't overcook the salmon

Salmon is a delicate fish that can dry out quickly if it’s overcooked. The key to cooking salmon is to remove it from the heat before it’s fully cooked through, as it will continue cooking for a few minutes after you take it off the heat. For this recipe, the salmon should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F. Use a meat thermometer to check the temperature by inserting it into the thickest part of the fillet.

Tip #5: Serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon

One of the simplest and most delicious ways to enhance the flavors of this dish is by squeezing some fresh lemon juice over the salmon just before serving. The acidity of the lemon will help cut through the richness of the salmon and falafel crust, making for a balanced and flavorful meal. Other toppings or sauces like tzatziki or a favorite salsa can also be added for flavor and texture.
Conclusion
Making Aquagrills Falafel Crusted Salmon Recipe is a great way to add some variety to your salmon dinner routine. By keeping these tips in mind, you can ensure that your salmon turns out perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. So why not give it a try next time you're craving a healthy and delicious meal?
