This recipe makes a great, home made, flavored vodka. Tastes awesome out of the freezer, or with a splash of tonic, or club soda, or even with some Orange Juice. Needs to sit in the fridge about a week for the full flavor to permeate. Oh and use a decent vodka, (no cheap bar stuff) but you dont' have to go crazy, with Van Gogh or Belvedere or anything. (I estimated the servings, we don't keep track of that sort of stuff) Cooking time does not include 'resting' in the fridge.

Steps:
- place the dried apricots in a saucepan with just enough water to cover.
- bring to boil and immediately turn off.
- allow to soak until soft about 15 minutes.
- In a large glass jar (don't use plastic or metal) place the apricots, any remaining liquid, the vanilla beans and the vodka.
- Give it a good stir and place in the fride.
- Allow to rest in the fridge about a week, stirring or gently shaking on occasion.
- You can either strain at this point and decant or, if you use a 'sun tea' type of jar with a spiggot at the bottom you can just pour directly from the jar.

Apricots and vanilla, when combined with vodka, create a unique balance of flavors that can make a delightful drink. Whether you're new to mixology or a seasoned bartender, there are some valuable tips you should keep in mind when making apricot vanilla vodka recipes.
1. Choose high-quality ingredients
One of the most important factors in creating a great drink is the quality of the ingredients you choose. When it comes to apricot vanilla vodka recipes, use high-quality, fresh apricots and vanilla beans. The vodka you choose should also be of good quality, so opt for premium brands.
2. Use fresh ingredients
Fresh ingredients add a burst of flavor to your drink, so make sure you are using fresh apricots and vanilla beans. If you can't find fresh apricots, consider using frozen ones. However, if you go for canned apricots, make sure to drain the syrup out before using them.
3. Experiment with different types of vodka
There are several types of vodka available, from regular to flavored ones. It's always a good idea to experiment with different types of vodka to find a brand that works best for the apricot vanilla vodka recipe you're making. Some vodkas have a smoother flavor, while others have a more pronounced taste that might better complement the apricot and vanilla notes.
4. Don't overdo the vanilla
Vanilla is a subtle flavor that can easily overpower the other ingredients if used in excess. When making apricot vanilla vodka recipes, it's important to find the right balance of apricot and vanilla. Use just enough vanilla to enhance the flavor and not to dominate the drink. A good rule of thumb is to use half a vanilla bean per bottle of vodka.
5. Choose the right type of apricots
There are two main types of apricots: the traditional Armenian variety, which is smaller and has a more tangy flavor, and the California apricot, which is larger and has a sweeter flavor. When making apricot vanilla vodka recipes, choose the type of apricot that you prefer based on your taste buds.
6. Infuse your vodka with apricots and vanilla
One way to incorporate the flavors of apricot and vanilla into vodka is to infuse it. This process involves soaking sliced apricots and scraped vanilla beans in vodka for several days to extract their flavors. The resulting infused vodka can be used in a wide range of cocktails.
7. Add other ingredients
To make your apricot vanilla vodka recipe even more exciting, consider adding other complementary ingredients such as ginger, lemon, or honey. These ingredients can add depth and complexity to the drink and give it a unique twist.
8. Use a shaker
When making cocktails, it's always a good idea to use a shaker. A shaker mixes the ingredients together thoroughly and creates a perfect blend of flavors. When making apricot vanilla vodka cocktails, you can use a cocktail shaker or a mason jar with a tight-fitting lid to shake the ingredients together.
9. Garnish your drinks
Garnishing your drinks is a simple way to make them more visually appealing and add an extra layer of flavor. You can garnish apricot vanilla vodka cocktails with fresh apricot slices, vanilla beans, or herbs such as mint or basil. Not only do these garnishes look great in the glass, but they also add an enticing aroma to the drink.
10. Serve chilled
Apricot vanilla vodka cocktails are best served chilled. You can either serve them on the rocks or strain them into a chilled martini glass. Adding ice cubes can dilute the drink over time, so it's a good idea to chill the vodka beforehand and serve it without ice.
In conclusion, apricot vanilla vodka recipes are a delicious and refreshing way to enjoy vodka. By choosing high-quality ingredients, experimenting with different types of vodka, infusing your vodka with apricots and vanilla, and adding complementary ingredients, you can create a unique and tasty drink that everyone will love. Remember to shake your drinks properly, garnish them with flair, and serve them chilled, and you'll be sure to impress your guests with your mixology skills.
