Tips to prepare a delicious apple pear salad with lemon poppy seed dressing

Here are some valuable tips that will help you prepare a delicious apple pear salad with lemon poppy seed dressing;
1. Choose the right type of apples and pears
Choosing the right type of apples and pears is key to preparing a successful apple pear salad with lemon poppy seed dressing. You will want to choose apples and pears that are firm and slightly tart to balance the sweetness of the dressing. Granny Smith apples and Bosc pears are great options for this salad.
2. Cut your fruits into even sizes
When preparing apple pear salad, it’s important to cut your fruits into even sizes to ensure that they cook and soften evenly. You can use a sharp knife or a mandoline slicer to cut your fruits into even sizes.
3. Make sure your greens are fresh
Fresh greens are the key to every delicious salad. For this salad, you may use a combination of mixed greens such as spinach, arugula, and lettuce. Be sure to inspect your greens and remove any wilted leaves before using them in this salad.
4. Mix your dressing well
The dressing is crucial to the success of your apple pear salad with lemon poppy seed dressing. To make a perfect dressing, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk them together until the honey is fully dissolved. For the best results, use freshly squeezed lemon juice, and mix the dressing well before using it.
5. Add nuts and cheese for some crunch and flavor
Adding nuts and cheese to your apple pear salad will give it some crunch and flavor. Pecans and blue cheese are recommended for this salad because they pair well with the sweetness of the fruits and the tanginess of the dressing.
6. Store your leftovers properly
If you have any leftovers, you can store your apple pear salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. However, it’s important to note that the greens may wilt, and the dressing may separate over time. To avoid this, store your dressing separately, and toss it with the salad just before serving.
7. Have fun with the recipe
Lastly, don’t be afraid to experiment with this recipe. You can add some grilled chicken or shrimp to make it a filling meal. You can also add some roasted sweet potatoes or butternut squash to add some depth and texture to the salad. Be creative, and have fun with it.
