Categories     Dessert     Snack

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 3

1/4 cup (4 envelopes) unflavored gelatin powder
4 cups cold fruit juice (divided (see note))
whipped cream and/or fresh fruit (to serve (optional))

Steps:

  • Pour 2 cups of the cold juice into a medium bowl. Sprinkle the gelatin over the cold juice and let sit for a few minutes (don't stir). The mixture will thicken.
  • Pour the remaining 2 cups of the juice into a heat-proof bowl or measuring cup. Heat the juice on high until it is very hot (almost boiling). Alternatively, heat the juice in a small saucepan on the stove. Pour the hot juice over the gelatin-juice mixture and stir to dissolve.
  • Transfer the bowl to the fridge to set. Alternatively, pour it into a glass baking dish (either 9x9" or 9x13" will work) or small individual bowls or cups to set. If you use a baking dish, the gelatin will be firm enough to cut into cubes when set. Refrigerate the dish(es) to set the gelatin (at least 1 hour, possibly more depending on the container(s) you choose). Serve with whipped cream and/or fresh fruit if desired.

Whether you are looking for a healthy snack or a dessert, apple juice jello cubes are a perfect choice. The best part about making these jello cubes is that they are incredibly easy to prepare and require only a few basic ingredients. In this article, we will provide you with valuable tips on how to make apple juice jello cubes recipes that are not only delicious but also healthy.

Tips for making apple juice jello cubes recipes

1. Choose the right type of apple juice

The quality of the apple juice that you use is very important when making jello cubes. Make sure to choose a high-quality apple juice that is made from fresh apples and is free from any added sugars or preservatives. Organic apple juice is a good option since it is free from harmful chemicals and is better for your health.

2. Use gelatin powder

Gelatin powder is an essential ingredient in making jello cubes since it helps the jello set properly. It is recommended to use high-quality gelatin powder that is made from natural sources such as beef or pork. Avoid using gelatin that has artificial ingredients or is heavily processed.

3. Use cold water when preparing the gelatin

When preparing the gelatin, it is important to use cold water to dissolve the powder. Using hot water will cause the gelatin to clump together and will not dissolve properly. Make sure to follow the instructions on the gelatin packet carefully to ensure that it dissolves properly and sets correctly.

4. Add fresh fruits and herbs

Adding fresh fruits and herbs to the jello cubes not only enhances the flavor but also makes them healthier. You can add sliced apples or berries to the jello mixture or add fresh mint leaves for a refreshing flavor. Make sure to use only fresh fruits and herbs that are washed and patted dry before adding them to the jello mixture.

5. Allow enough time for the jello to set

After preparing the jello mixture, you need to allow enough time for it to set in the fridge. This usually takes around 2-3 hours but can vary depending on the type of gelatin used and the size of the jello cubes. It is recommended to check the jello after a couple of hours to ensure that it has set properly before removing it from the fridge.

6. Experiment with different flavors

Apple juice jello cubes can be made in a variety of flavors by using different types of fruits, herbs, and juices. You can add lemon or lime juice for a tangy flavor or use grape juice for a sweeter taste. You can also experiment with different combinations of fruits and juices to create your unique jello recipe.

7. Presentation is key

The presentation of the jello cubes is just as important as the taste. You can use different types of molds or containers to create unique shapes and sizes that look appealing. Using colorful fruits and herbs or adding a dollop of whipped cream on top can also make the jello cubes more visually appealing.

8. Store the jello cubes properly

After the jello cubes have been set, it is important to store them properly to ensure that they maintain their flavor and texture. You can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze them for longer storage. Make sure to thaw the jello cubes properly before serving.

Conclusion

Apple juice jello cubes are a tasty and healthy treat that can be enjoyed by all ages. By following these valuable tips, you can create delicious jello cubes that are not only visually appealing but also healthy. So, next time you are looking for a refreshing snack or a dessert, consider making apple juice jello cubes and enjoy the delicious flavors of fresh fruits and juices.
