APPLE AND CHIPOTLE TURKEY BURGERS
I saw this recipe on Oprah one day but i switched around a few ingredients to make it more affordable. I like to use Granny Smith apples and I don't really use measurements, so dabble with your own! These burgers taste best when grilled ( I use my Foreman) but they taste just as good when pan frying. If your in a hurry for a meal, you can skip the 2 hours in the fridge. Thats just used to insure your burgers will stay together while cooking. This is one of the BEST turkey burgers I've ever had and I hope you enjoy it just as much as me! :)

They are perfect for a summer BBQ, and they are a great way to get your family to eat more fruits and vegetables. In this article, we will discuss valuable tips that will help you make the perfect apple and chipotle turkey burgers.
Tip #1: Choose the Right Ground Turkey
The first tip in making an apple and chipotle turkey burger is to choose the right ground turkey. The type of ground turkey you use will affect the flavor and texture of your burger. You can choose between dark meat, light meat, or a mixture of both. Dark meat has more fat than light meat, which can make the burger more flavorful and juicy. However, if you are watching your fat intake, you may want to choose light meat. Mixing both types of meat can also be a good option because it can create a balance between flavor and nutrition.
Tip #2: Add Flavorful Ingredients
When making apple and chipotle turkey burgers, you want to add ingredients that will enhance their flavor. Some of the best ingredients to add to your burger include minced onions, garlic, fresh herbs, and spices. You can also add some grated apple, which will give your burgers a fruity sweetness. To add spice, you can use chipotle peppers, which have a smoky flavor that will complement the sweetness of the apple.
Tip #3: Add Moisture
Turkey meat is leaner than beef, which means that it can easily become dry when cooked. To avoid dryness, you need to add moisture to your burger mixture. One way to do this is to use breadcrumbs or rolled oats. These ingredients can help to bind the meat and keep it moist. You can also add some grated zucchini or carrots, which will add moisture and nutrition to your burger.
Tip #4: Don’t Overmix Your Burger Mixture
When making apple and chipotle turkey burgers, it can be tempting to overmix the burger mixture. However, overmixing can result in tough and dry burgers. To avoid this, mix the ingredients gently and only until they are combined. You can also use your hands to mix the burger mixture, which will help you to feel when it is ready.
Tip #5: Cook Your Burgers Properly
Cooking your turkey burgers properly is important to ensure that they are safe to eat and delicious. The internal temperature of your burgers should be 165°F. To check the temperature, you can use a meat thermometer. You can also check the color and texture of your burgers. The center of the burger should be cooked through, and the meat should be firm to the touch.
Tip #6: Choose the Right Bun
The bun you choose for your apple and chipotle turkey burgers can also affect their flavor and texture. You can choose between a classic burger bun, a whole wheat bun, or a gluten-free bun. The bun you choose should be soft and fresh. You can also toast the bun to add some extra texture and flavor.
Tip #7: Choose the Right Toppings
Finally, when making apple and chipotle turkey burgers, you want to choose the right toppings. Some of the best toppings for turkey burgers include lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and avocado. You can also add some of your favorite sauces or dressings, such as ketchup, mustard, or BBQ sauce.
Conclusion
In conclusion, apple and chipotle turkey burgers are a delicious and nutritious twist on the classic burger. These burgers are a great way to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet, and they are perfect for a summer BBQ. When making apple and chipotle turkey burgers, you want to choose the right ground turkey, add flavorful ingredients, add moisture, mix the mixture gently, cook the burgers properly, choose the right bun, and choose the right toppings. With these tips, you can make the perfect apple and chipotle turkey burgers every time.
