This makes an amazing rib eye! Please note that these directions are for one steak. I did four steaks and had to add 3 minutes per side in the oven - but my oven is also not working well so it might not have been to 500.

The Secret to a Perfect Rib Eye Steak
To prepare amazing rib eye steaks, you need to start with high-quality meat. Look for premium-grade beef that has been aged for at least 21 days to enhance its flavor and tenderness. Rib eye steaks are cut from the rib section of the cow and are known for their marbling, which adds to the rich flavor of the meat.
The secret to cooking a perfect rib eye steak is to sear it quickly over high heat to create a crisp crust on the outside and then finish cooking it at lower temperature to ensure that the inside remains juicy and tender.
Preparing the Marsala Sauce
Marsala sauce is a classic Italian sauce that is made by simmering marsala wine with butter, mushrooms, and herbs. To prepare the sauce, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1/2 cup marsala wine
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 shallot, minced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
To make the sauce, heat the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shallot and garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the mushrooms and thyme and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the mushrooms are tender and lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Add the marsala wine and chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until the sauce has thickened and reduced, about 10 minutes. Adjust the seasoning as needed.
Grilling the Rib Eye Steaks
To grill rib eye steaks, you will need a hot grill and a pair of tongs. Brush the steaks lightly with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper. Place the steaks on the grill and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side. Then move the steaks to a cooler part of the grill and continue cooking until they reach the desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, cook for an additional 3-5 minutes; for medium, cook for an additional 5-7 minutes; for well-done, cook for an additional 8-10 minutes.
Serving the Rib Eye Steaks with Marsala Sauce
To serve the rib eye steaks with marsala sauce, place the grilled steaks on a serving platter and spoon the marsala sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired, and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
