APPLE ALMOND MUFFINS

Apple Almond Muffins image

I had some almond flour (labeled as almond flour/meal) that I wanted to try, but I couldn't find a recipe that was really what I wanted, so I whipped this up patching a bunch of recipes together. Surprisingly, these came out great! If you don't have any almond flour, substitute regular flour. I had some ground nut/sugar/cardamom topping hanging around that I used, but feel free to leave the top bare or add the optional crunch topping listed below.

If you are new to making muffins or want to improve your existing recipe, this article outlines several valuable tips to help you make the perfect batch of almond apple spice muffins.

1. Preheat Your Oven

Before you start preparing the ingredients for your muffins, preheat your oven to the correct temperature. Almond apple spice muffins are typically baked at 375°F, which is the perfect temperature to get that golden brown and delicious crust on the outside while keeping the inside moist and fluffy.

2. Use A Muffin Pan Liner

Using a muffin pan liner is an excellent way to keep your muffins from sticking to the pan. They are also easy to remove, which makes cleaning up a breeze. Muffin pan liners come in different sizes, so make sure to pick the right size for your muffin pan.

3. Don't Overmix The Ingredients

When making muffins, it is crucial not to overmix the ingredients. Overmixing can cause the muffins to become dense and heavy. To prevent this, mix the ingredients until they are just incorporated. If you see a few lumps in the batter, that's okay. They will disappear after baking.

4. Use Fresh Ingredients

Using fresh ingredients is essential when making almond apple spice muffins. Fresh apples have more flavor and will keep your muffins moist. Using fresh almond flour will also give your muffins a nutty and wholesome taste.

5. Measure Ingredients Precisely

Measuring the ingredients precisely is critical to making the perfect batch of muffins. Using too much or too little of certain ingredients can affect the texture and taste of your muffins. Use measuring cups and spoons to ensure that you add the correct amount of each ingredient.

6. Add A Crumb Topping

Adding a crumb topping to your almond apple spice muffins will take them to the next level. The crumb topping will add a crunchy texture to the muffins, making them even more irresistible. To make the crumb topping, mix butter, sugar, and almond flour until it forms a crumbly mixture, then sprinkle over the muffin batter before baking.

7. Let Muffins Cool Before Serving

Allowing your muffins to cool for a few minutes before serving them will prevent you from burning your mouth and allow the muffins to set properly. After baking, let the muffins cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

8. Store Muffins In An Airtight Container

Storing your almond apple spice muffins in an airtight container will keep them fresh for several days. You can also freeze your muffins if you want to keep them longer. Place them in a freezer bag and freeze for up to three months.
