Steps:
- Place half the ground beef on a sheet of plastic wrap. Pat it into a rectangular shape, about 1/2 inch thick, 8 1/2 inches long, and 4 inches wide. Season with salt and pepper. Roll the beef into a log, using the plastic wrap as a guide. Season with more salt and pepper. Wrap the plastic tightly around the log and twist both ends tight. Pat gently to slightly flatten. Repeat with remaining ground beef.
- Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate. Remove the burger dogs from the plastic wrap and place on the grill, perpendicular to the grates. Cook until burgers are browned but still pink inside, 4 to 5 minutes, flip, and cook another 2 to 3 minutes. Place a slice of cheese on each burger dog and grill to medium doneness (an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 140 degrees F/60 degrees C). Remove and rest 3 to 4 minutes.
- Toast hot dog buns on the grill and spread each with 2 teaspoons mayonnaise. Place burger dog on each bun and squirt 1 tablespoon of ketchup on top.

Steps:
- 1. Slice your wieners across ways. Season your meat as you normally would, divide meat into number of equal portions for the number of burgers you plan to cook.
- 2. Now the tricky part. I thought these cow patties would good together just like normal, wrong!! They apparently have an adverse reaction to the wieners. They don't particularly want to hold together. Not wanting to add an egg, I did manage to manipulate one burger together, and added more wieners to it once I got it shaped.
- 3. The other ones, I cut each burger portion in half, made a patty, added the wieners on top, then made another patty and covered the first one. Hence, the wieners were inside like you would put cheese inside two patties. If you use this method, be sure to seal the edges all the way around.
- 4. Grill your burger to perfection, depending on your taste. https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/main-course/beef/flame-broiled-burger.html?p=1
- 5. This is what your little mooing dogs will look like.
- 6. Add chili, grated cheese, and diced onion, place on baking sheet in 400° oven for about 4-5 min. to melt cheese and heat bun.
- 7. Get a little wild and put all your favorite hot dog toppings on your newly addicting "Burger Dog".

Whether you are a seasoned cook or a beginner, these tips will help you create a delicious and satisfying meal.
Tips for Making All American Burger Dog Recipe
1. Choose the Right Meat
The first and foremost tip when making all American burger dog recipes is to choose the right meat. You want a meat that is rich in flavor, tender, and juicy. Beef or beef and pork mixture is the best options to use for the burger dog recipe.
When selecting meat to make a burger dog recipe, it is essential to look for high-quality ground beef or beef and pork mixture. The best quality beef for burgers should be around 80% lean to 20% fat. This mixture ensures the meat is juicy, flavorful and tender. You don't want your burger dog to dry out, and choosing high-quality meat is the key to avoiding this pitfall.
2. Consider Seasonings and Spices
Another important tip when making all American burger dog recipes is using the right seasonings and spices. Seasonings and spices are used to enhance the flavor and aroma of the meat.
You may want to consider adding some barbecue sauce or Worcestershire sauce to the meat mixture, which helps create a sweet and savory flavor. A tablespoon of dry mustard, minced garlic, and paprika will add flavor to your burger dog recipe. However, remember to avoid overdoing it as too many spices can overwhelm the flavor of your burger dog.
3. Take the Time to Mix the Meat
Mixing your ground beef or beef and pork mixture is an essential part of achieving the perfect texture for your burger dog. You can use a fork or a clean hand to mix the meat. Mix the meat gently to avoid overworking it, which can cause the burger dog to become tough and dry.
After mixing the meat, form the mixture into a log shape. When forming the shape, you'll want to ensure that it's not too thick or too thin as it will affect cooking time and consistency. Use a knife or a kitchen scissors to cut the log into eight equal pieces, then shape individual pieces into a hot dog form.
4. Get Creative with Toppings
One of the best aspects of making all American burger dog recipes is the versatility when it comes to toppings. The traditional burger dog toppings include mustard, ketchup, cheese, and pickles. However, you can get creative with your toppings and make it more flavorful.
Some other popular toppings for burger dogs include onions, bacon, jalapenos, chili, guacamole, and various sauces. You can also use different types of cheeses, such as cheddar, pepper jack or Swiss, to add flavor to your burger dog.
5. Cook the Burger Dog over Medium Heat
The final tip when making all American burger dog recipes is to cook it over medium heat. Medium heat ensures that the meat is cooked correctly while also giving it enough time to develop a beautiful crust on the outside. Cook the burger dog for 5-7 minutes on each side, then cover with loosely aluminum foil for 5 minutes to ensure it is fully cooked.
When cooking the burger dog, you may want to consider using a grill. Grilling your burger dog is a fun and delicious way to cook it, giving a smoky flavor to the meat. Another option is to use a skillet or flat-top, which is a better option if you don't have a grill.
Conclusion
In conclusion, making an all American burger dog recipe is a fun and exciting experience. These valuable tips will help you create a delicious and satisfying meal that your friends and family will love. Remember to choose the right meat, use the right seasoning and spices, mix the meat gently, get creative with toppings and cook the burger dog over medium heat.
