ALL-AMERICAN BBQ SLIDERS

All-American BBQ Sliders image

I came across this recipe while I was checking my email. A friend of mine back home finds recipes that she likes, but her hubby doesn't like to experiment with new recipes. So she sends them to me & I test them out for her. (My DH has been my taste tester for 10 years & loving every minute of it!!) So I tried this the other day & it was awesome. My DH ate 5 in one sitting & my two boys ate 4 each.

Time 43m

Yield 8 sliders, 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 15

1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 lb ground chuck
3/4 lb ground sirloin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1 large red onion, cut into 1/2 inch-thick slices
8 slices sharp cheddar cheese
8 small dinner rolls, halved horizontally
8 lettuce leaves
1 tomatoes, cut into 8 slices
16 slices bacon, cooked to a crisp, slices halved

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, mustard & Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally until sauce thickens, about 10 minutes. Pour sauce into a large bowl and set aside.
  • Crumble the chuck & sirloin into a bowl, sprinkle with salt & pepper, and toss lightly to combine. Shape into 8 (3 inch) burgers, about 1/2 inch-thick.
  • Preheat grill to medium-hot and oil grill rack. Grill onions for 5 minutes on each side, or until softened and browned. Transfer onions to bowl with sauce; toss to combine.
  • Grill burgers, 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium-rare. (I took the sauce that was made & dressed each side as well) Top with cheese during the last 1 to 2 minutes of cooking time, with grill covered, to melt cheese. Remove burgers from grill. Grill buns cut sides down until toasted.
  • To assemble burgers, top bottom halves of buns with lettuce, tomato slices, and burgers. Spoon on onions, and top each burger with 2 pieces of bacon and bun tops.

All American BBQ Sliders Recipes:

Barbecue season is here and there's no better way to enjoy it with family and friends than with tasty sliders. The All-American BBQ Sliders recipe is perfect for those seeking an easy and delicious meal. Sliders are a fun, bite-sized version of your favorite burger and they offer endless possibilities for customization. With a variety of meats, sauces, and toppings, you can create your own version of the All-American BBQ Slider.

All American BBQ Sliders Recipes: Meat

When it comes to choosing the right meat for your All-American BBQ Slider recipe, you have a few options. Ground beef is a classic choice that's easy to find in most grocery stores. However, you can also try ground turkey, chicken, or pork for a different twist on this classic meal.
Beef
For the classic All-American BBQ Slider, use 80/20 ground beef. This means the meat is 80% lean and 20% fat, which adds flavor and helps keep the burgers juicy.
Turkey
If you're looking for a healthier option, ground turkey is a great choice. Turkey is leaner than beef, and it's high in protein. The only downside is that it can dry out quickly if overcooked, so be sure to watch it carefully on the grill.
Chicken
Ground chicken is another healthy option that's high in protein and low in fat. It's also a great base for adding extra flavor, like herbs or spices. Just be careful not to overcook it, as it can easily become dry and chewy.
Pork
Ground pork is a flavorful option that pairs well with the smoky flavor of barbecue sauce. It's also a great option for those who don't eat beef or who want a break from chicken and turkey.

All American BBQ Sliders Recipes: Sauce

The sauce is the key to any great BBQ Slider. Whether you prefer sweet, spicy, or tangy, there's a sauce out there to suit your tastes. Here are some of our favorite options:
Barbecue Sauce
No All-American BBQ Slider is complete without a good barbecue sauce. You can either make your own or buy a store-bought sauce. If you go with the latter, be sure to read the label and choose a sauce without any added sugars or preservatives.
Chipotle Aioli
If you're looking for a spicy kick, try making a chipotle aioli. Mix together mayonnaise, minced chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, and garlic for a creamy, flavorful sauce that pairs well with any type of meat.
Honey Mustard
For something on the sweeter side, try making a honey mustard sauce. Mix together dijon mustard, honey, and mayonnaise for a tangy and sweet flavor that complements the smoky flavor of the meat.

All American BBQ Sliders Recipes: Toppings

The sky's the limit when it comes to toppings for your All-American BBQ Sliders. Here are some ideas to get you started:
Cheese
No burger is complete without cheese. Try using a classic American cheese, or mix it up with cheddar, pepper jack, or even blue cheese.
Vegetables
Don't forget to add some veggies to your sliders. Sliced tomatoes, onions, pickles, and lettuce all make great toppings. You could even try adding some grilled vegetables, like peppers or mushrooms, for some extra flavor.
Bacon
Everything is better with bacon. Add a few slices to your sliders for an extra smoky flavor and some extra crunch.

All-American BBQ Sliders are an excellent choice for any summer gathering. These little burgers are juicy, flavorful, and perfect for feeding a crowd. They’re also easy to customize to your liking, allowing you to experiment with different flavor combinations and toppings. If you’re planning on hosting a barbecue party any time soon, here are some valuable tips that will help you make the best All-American BBQ sliders recipes. 1. Choose the Right Meat When choosing ground beef for your sliders, it’s important to select a cut that has a sufficient amount of fat. A good rule of thumb is to select ground beef that is around 80% lean and 20% fat. This will ensure that your sliders are juicy and flavorful. Some people like to mix different types of meats, such as beef and pork, to get a unique flavor. 2. Season the Meat Properly While the type of meat you choose is important, seasoning is what will really elevate your sliders to the next level. To avoid dry and bland sliders, add your favorite seasonings to the meat mixture. Common spices include salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cumin. Some folks even add Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce for an extra boost of flavor. 3. Don’t Overwork the Meat When mixing the seasonings into the ground beef, be careful not to overwork the meat. Overworking the meat can make it tough and dry, which will ruin the texture of your sliders. Simply mix the meat and spices together until they’re evenly distributed. 4. Keep the Patties Small One of the keys to making perfect sliders is to keep the patties small. This helps ensure that they cook evenly and quickly. A good rule of thumb is to make your patties around 2 inches in diameter. You can use a cookie cutter or biscuit cutter to make sure they’re all uniform in size. 5. Indent the Center of the Patty Before cooking the patties, it’s a good idea to make a small indent in the center of each patty. This will help the burgers to cook evenly and prevent them from puffing up in the center. Simply press your thumb into the center of each patty, making sure not to press too hard. 6. Use a Hot Grill To get a nice crust on your sliders, make sure your grill is hot before you start cooking. Preheat your grill to high heat before placing the patties on the grates. You want to hear a sizzling sound when you put the patties on the grill. 7. Flip Once When cooking sliders, it’s important to flip them only once. If you flip them too often, they may fall apart. Wait until the first side is nicely browned before flipping them over. This should take about 3 to 4 minutes per side. 8. Add Cheese No American BBQ slider is complete without cheese! You can use any type of cheese you like, but American cheese, cheddar, or pepper jack are all good options. Once you’ve flipped the sliders, add a slice of cheese on top of each one. Cover the grill and let the cheese melt for about 1 to 2 minutes. 9. Toast the Buns Toasting the buns is a simple step that can make a big difference. Place the buns on the grill or in the oven for just a few minutes to give them a nice crispy texture. Be careful not to over-toast them, as this can make them too hard and difficult to bite into. 10. Be Creative with Toppings The best thing about American BBQ sliders is that you can get creative with toppings. You can keep it simple with ketchup and mustard, or go all out with bacon, avocado, and fried onions. Some other popular toppings include pickles, lettuce, tomato, and BBQ sauce. You can set up a toppings bar and let your guests customize their own sliders. In conclusion, hosting a barbecue party is a great way to enjoy the summer weather while hanging out with friends and family. American BBQ sliders are the perfect addition to any backyard gathering. By following these valuable tips, you can make sliders that are juicy, flavorful, and sure to be a hit with everyone. Happy grilling!
