This quick weeknight ground beef recipe swaps out the taco shells for butter lettuce to make delicious Asian-style wraps.

1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 lb. ground beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, diced
1/4 cup A.1. Thick & Hearty Sauce
2 Tbsp. less-sodium soy sauce
1 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar
1 Tbsp. freshly grated gingerroot
1/2 tsp. Sriracha sauce (hot chili sauce)
1 pt. mushroom, roughly chopped
1 head butter lettuce

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium high heat and brown beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat. Add garlic, onion and mushrooms to skillet. Return to heat and cook until onion is translucent and mushrooms are soft.
  • Add A.1., soy sauce, vinegar, ginger and Sriracha. Stir until well combined and cook just until warmed through and ready to serve.
  • To serve, spoon mixture into a lettuce leaf and wrap to pick up and enjoy like a taco. If desired, pair with a splash of soy sauce mixed with freshly grated ginger for dipping.

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 jalapeno, diced
1/2 yellow onion, diced
2 pounds ground beef
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
8 medium inner romaine lettuce leaves (from a romaine heart)
1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
2 red onions, diced
2 avocados, each sliced into 8 slices
2 ears fresh corn, cooked and kernels sliced off
1 container sour cream
1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
2 limes, each cut into 4 wedges

Steps:

  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil, bell pepper, jalapeno and onions and cook until starting to soften, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the ground beef and cook until totally browned, about 8 minutes. Add the chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper and crushed red pepper and stir to combine.
  • Pile the mixture into individual romaine lettuce leaves and top each with 2 tablespoons pepper jack, 1 tablespoon chopped tomatoes, one-eight of the red onion, 2 slices of avocado, one-eighth of the corn, a dollop of sour cream, 1 tablespoon cilantro and 1 lime wedge.

½ cup hoisin sauce
½ cup peanut sauce
12 lettuce leaves
1 cucumber, seeded and finely chopped
½ cup shredded carrot
¼ cup chopped fresh mint
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Add hoisin sauce and peanut sauce; cook until heated through, 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Spoon beef mixture into the center of lettuce leaves, taco-style. Top with cucumber, carrot, and mint. Season with salt and pepper.

1 tablespoon plus 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1 lb beef top sirloin steak, about 3/4 inch thick
4 whole wheat tortillas (6 to 8 inch)
3/4 cup reduced-fat sour cream
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
4 cups shredded lettuce
1 large tomato, chopped (1 cup)

Steps:

  • In small bowl, mix chili powder, oregano, cumin and salt. Rub mixture on both sides of beef. Let stand 10 minutes at room temperature.
  • Set oven control to broil. Place beef on rack in broiler pan. Broil with top 3 to 4 inches from heat about 10 minutes for medium doneness, turning once, or until desired doneness. Cut into 1/8-inch slices.
  • Warm tortillas as directed on package. In small bowl, mix sour cream and horseradish. Spread 3 tablespoons horseradish mixture over each tortilla; top each with 1 cup of the lettuce and 1/4 cup of the tomato. Top with beef. Wrap tortillas around filling.
