THEY COULD BE SLIDERS (IF EATEN WITH EYES CLOSED) - WHITE CASTLE

They Could Be Sliders (If Eaten With Eyes Closed) - White Castle image

A slightly "mock" rendition of White Castles sliders, but we think only better. Great "kid" sized burgers or even better for "adult" sized snacks! NOTE: since posting this recipe I have found out that Pepperidge Farm no longer makes the small rolls in the pans so therefore use your own disgression on which rolls are available to you but I do suggest that you use a small size like a dinner roll in order to get the full "White Castle" affect!

WHITE SLOPPY JOES (AKA MORRIS' SLOPPY JOES)

White Sloppy Joes (aka Morris' sloppy joes) image

This recipe came from a lady, Mrs. Morris, in my home church in Ohio. My mom always called it Morris' sloppy joes. We just call it white sloppy joes and it is a favorite. My husband and I work at a facility for troubled teens and spent 15 years as houseparents living with middle school age boys - 15 of them at a time!! I had...

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 lb ground beef
1 can(s) cream of celery soup
1 can(s) cream of mushroom soup
hamburger buns

Steps:

  • 1. Brown ground beef in a large skillet. Drain and return to pan.
  • 2. Add both cans of soup and stir in well. (see note at end)
  • 3. Serve on hamburger buns. It makes 10 to 12 sandwiches.
  • 4. Depending on the type of beef you buy you may not need all the soup as it could make it "too sloppy". I have at times put the leftover in a freezable container and used it the next time. You can also let it simmer a little bit and it cooks down and thickens up some if you have too much soup in it. Also, since buns come in so many different sizes the number may vary and often times people eat more than one.
  • 5. One time I got these all started and realized I did not have any celery soup. I substituted celery seed in the mix and it still had that celery taste.
