WEIGHT WATCHERS MILK SHAKE (FLEX OR CORE)

Weight Watchers Milk Shake (Flex or Core) image

This is from a very old Weight Watchers pamphlet for Week One of the diet. I love this milk shake. It's surprisingly thick and tasty.

WEIGHT WATCHER TRIPLE THICK MILKSHAKE

Weight Watcher Triple Thick Milkshake image

I had a brainiac idea for a Weight Watcher approved protein shake appropriate as a great snack, dessert, or after workout shake. I use APEX Lean Meal Replacement Vanilla protein powder and Fat Free Yoplait Very Cherry yogurt (with dried cherries). Feel free to mix it up and explore your options. This shake is 3 points per serving. =)

THICK MILKSHAKES

Thick Milkshakes image

This is a general milkshake recipe that I derived from another milkshake recipe already on here. I am vague about ingredients because this is very flexible.

Time 5m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 scoops ice cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup whole milk
3 tablespoons instant malted milk powder
1 -2 tablespoon instant pudding mix

Steps:

  • Scoop the ice cream into a blender.
  • Fill the blender with whole milk until it just covers the first scoop (approximately 1 cup).
  • Put in the vanilla if this is a vanilla oriented shake.
  • Put in the pudding mix (be creative with the flavor).
  • Here you can stick in whatever extra flavor you want. I have tried peanut butter, bananas, chocolate syrup, strawberries, or nothing.
  • Last put in the malt if you want it malted.
  • Blend in bursts, then blend somewhat slowly to consistency of choice.
  • Enjoy thick milkshake.

STEVE'S CHOCOLATE PROTEIN SHAKE

Steve's Chocolate Protein Shake image

I came up with this recipe to improve the taste and the consistency of the whey protein that I use. I use Optimum Nutrition Double Chocolate 100% Whey. Brand is important. Taste and cost vary greatly between brands! I setup a dozen or so small plastic containers that contain the dry ingredients ahead of time so I don't have to measure out the individual ingredients every day.

Time 5m

Yield 1 drink, 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 cup water
1 scoop whey protein, Optimum Nutrition Double Chocolate
5 ice cubes
1/2 banana, smashed and frozen
1/8 teaspoon xanthan gum
2 (1 g) packets Splenda sugar substitute
2 teaspoons cocoa, 100% cocoa for baking
1 tablespoon smooth peanut butter, Smart Balance, Earth Balance, other

Steps:

  • Add water to blender. I use a Magic Bullet so that I can use the mixing container as the glass I drink it from.
  • Add ice cubes second so that they will soften while you add the other ingredients.
  • Add 1/2 banana. I freeze 1/2 bananas that are smashed up in individual ziplock bags. Freezing them really thickens the shake over room temp bananas. Freezing is also a good way to save bananas that are getting too ripe.
  • Add protein powder. I use one scoop using the scoop that comes with the whey.
  • Add xanthan gum which thickens the shake.
  • Add Splenda and cocoa to taste.
  • Add peanut butter to taste.
  • Blend until smooth.

I like having one with a banana after a good workout. Only 2 points plus on the WW program. FYI, this isn't a sweet shake. Add sugar or artificial sweetener to taste if needed. (90 calories, 3.5 g fat, 8.5g carbs, 7g protein, 5.5g fiber)

Time 1m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup skim milk
2 tablespoons fat-free sugar-free instant chocolate pudding mix
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons fat-free cool whip
8 ice cubes

Steps:

  • Place everything in a blender and blend 3-4 minutes. Place in a glass. I put mine in the freezer for 4-5 minutes. Drink carefully as it will give you a brain freeze.
  • If you like strawberry shakes, try substituting the chocolate mix with cheesecake and use frozen unsweetened strawberries in the place of the ice.
  • Or pistachio pudding mix, with frozen unsweetened pineapple and 1 tsp of coconut extract (sort of like a pina colada).
  • Or banana cream pudding FF/SF of course, ½ a banana, 10 ice cubes, and of course Fat Free Cool Whip.
