EGGNOG OF THE COMMONWEALTH CLUB

"This eggnog has been used in the club for over a hundred years, according to Alice B. Toklas. This eggnog will knock you off your feet and is not for times of stress. For hangovers: Fernet Branca and soda."

Steps:
- Separtate yolks and whites of eggs. In a large bowl, beat thoroughly the yolks of the eggs, then add and mix well the sugar, adding slowly.
- Stir and heat.
- Mixture should be stirred into the whiskey.
- Add cream slowly and mix in thoroughly.
- beat whites of eggs until stiff and mix in thoroughly, then lastly the whipped cream.
- Individuals can sprinkle grated nutmeg to their taste.

VIRGINIA EGGNOG
Steps:
- In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat the egg yolks at medium speed for at least 30 minutes. Gradually beat in the sugar, bourbon, rum, and peach brandy. Sir in milk and let the mixture stand in the refrigerator for a few hours. To serve, fold in the heavy cream, until it just holds a peak, and serve the eggnog in a bowl set in a container of crushed ice.
VIRGINIA PLANTATION EGGNOG
Rich, very, very rich. This is an old recipe from the 1700's. Originally, a friend gave me this and swore me to secrecy, but later, I found this same recipe in an old cook book. I would not drink this often, with or without the alcohol! Certainly make sure your guests have a desiginated driver! This is awesome eggnog!
