These are not the ordinary "dry" ground turkey you are thinking of. I grilled mine on low for about 8 minutes per side. I suggest if you aren't the biggest fan of onions maybe add 1/4 cup. This was from a cooking light magazine.

1 cup oats
1 cup finely chopped onion (I used 1/3 cup)
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt (I use salt lite)
2 large egg whites, lightly beaten
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can no-salt-added whole tomatoes, drained and chopped
1 1/2 lbs 99% lean ground turkey
cooking spray

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients.
  • Divide mixture into 6 patties.
  • Heat grill pan coated with cooking spray over medium high heat or lightly spray grill rack.
  • Cook for 6 minutes on each side or until done.
  • Serve with favorite condiments on roll.

Savory Turkey Burgers with Garlicky Mayonnaise image

Fire up the grill and enjoy a flavorful burger and French-style mayonnaise without the guilt!

1/4 cup fat-free or reduced-fat mayonnaise
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon finely chopped garlic
1 lb ground turkey breast
1/4 cup quick-cooking oats
1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 teaspoon salt-free seasoning blend
1 small onion, finely chopped (1/4 cup)
1 egg white
4 whole wheat burger buns, split
4 lettuce leaves
4 tomato slices

Steps:

  • Heat gas or charcoal grill. In small bowl, mix mayonnaise, lemon juice and garlic. Cover; refrigerate until serving time.
  • In large bowl, stir turkey, oats, soy sauce, seasoning blend, onion and egg white until well mixed. Shape mixture into 4 patties, about 3/4 inch thick.
  • Place patties on grill. Cook uncovered over medium heat about 15 minutes, turning once, until thermometer inserted in center of patty reads 165°F.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon mayonnaise on bottom of each bun. Place burgers over mayonnaise; top with lettuce, tomatoes and top of buns.
