This recipe was given to me by a good friend of mine years ago. I have used it so many times and it has always received rave reviews!!

Number Of Ingredients 8

16 ounces sour cream
16 ounces cream cheese
1 (8 ounce) package taco seasoning
1 red pepper
1 yellow pepper
1 bunch green onion
1 cucumber
shredded cheese

Steps:

  • Mix in a medium bowl the sour cream, cream cheese and taco seasoning.
  • Spread on a serving plate.
  • Dice peppers, green onions and cucumber and place a layer of each all over the spread. (You can add more variety if wanted).
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese over top. Can chill or serve immediately.
  • Serve with tostados.

1 1/2 lbs hamburger
1 head lettuce
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 soft avocado
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 1/4 cups milk
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 cup tomatoes, chopped
10 ounces taco sauce
cheese, shredded
tostado chips

Steps:

  • Brown hamburger and drain; set aside and cool. Finely chop lettuce and cover bottom of plate or platter with it. Spread onion and tomato over lettuce. Spread hamburger on top of that. Blend cream cheese, avocado, garlic salt, and milk in blender. Poor over top hamburger. Spread taco sauce on top of that, then cover with shredded cheese. Eat on chips.

1-1/2 pounds peeled and deveined cooked shrimp (26-30 per pound), coarsely chopped
1-1/2 cups chopped, peeled English cucumber
8 radishes, thinly sliced
4 plum tomatoes, chopped
4 green onions, chopped
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
2 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons lime juice
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 medium ripe avocado, peeled and cubed
SAUCE:
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon grated lime zest
1 tablespoon lime juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon pepper
ASSEMBLY:
10 tostada shells

Steps:

  • Place first 11 ingredients in a large bowl; toss to combine. Gently stir in avocado; let stand 15 minutes., In a small bowl, mix sauce ingredients. To serve, spread tostada shells with sauce. Top with shrimp mixture.
