YUMMY TOLL HOUSE BARS
I can't say why exactly, but I prefer these bars to cookies. If you haven't tried them, now is the time. And have a tall glass of cold milk handy.

Steps:
- 1. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, combine butter, sugars, and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Add egg; beat well.
- 2. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
- 3. Spread into a lightly greased 9x13x2" pan. Bake in a 375-degree oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

I get no credit for this recipe except making it and loving it! When I was a kid we made these all the time. The recipe was on the back of the Nestle chocolate chip package. They are simply yummy!

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat butter, sugars, vanilla, and water till creamy. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts. Spread batter in a greased 8 inch square pan. Sprinkle with chocolate. Bake in 375 degrees oven for 1-2 minutes. Remove pan. Run knife through top for marbled effect, bake for 15 to 20 minutes or till cake tested inserted inside comes out clean.
