1/4 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons natural-style peanut butter (I use organic. Smuckers makes an organic, natural PB.)
1 teaspoon brown sugar (I use Florida Crystals Organic brown sugar)
milk, as needed (I use about 2 or 3 tablespoons)
1 dash salt

Steps:

  • Put the oats and water into a large microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 1 minute.
  • Stir and microwave another 30 seconds, watching to be careful it doesn't overflow.
  • Stir in the peanut butter, brown sugar, salt and milk.
  • Smile as your toddler eats a healthy breakfast. :D.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1-3/4 cups water
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup old-fashioned oats
2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
2 tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons ground flaxseed
1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Chopped apple, optional

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, bring water and salt to a boil. Stir in oats; cook 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Transfer oatmeal to 2 bowls; in each bowl, stir half each peanut butter, honey, flaxseed, cinnamon and, if desired, apple. Serve immediately.
