This is a good homecoming or cookout pie! I have not made it myself, but have had it at homecomings! Hope you enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 eggs, separated
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 cup raisins
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 unbaked 8-inch pie shell

Steps:

  • Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Beat egg yolks until light and thick.
  • Sift spices with sugar.
  • Add to the yolks.
  • Add pecans, raisins, butter and vinegar.
  • Beat egg whites until stiff.
  • Fold egg yolk mixture into the egg whites.
  • Pour into unbaked pie shell.
  • Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees, then reduce to 350 degrees for about 25 minutes.

1 cup white corn syrup
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/3 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons flour
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 slightly beaten eggs
1 1/2 cups pecan halves
9 inches pie crusts

Steps:

  • Mix syrup, sugar, salt and flour well. Add melted butter and vanilla. Mix in slightly beaten eggs with other ingredients. Add pecans. Pour into a 9" pie crust. Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes.

3 c sugar, granulated
2 Tbsp flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp allspice
3 stick butter, not margarine
5 eggs, whole
1 1/2 c pecans, chopped
1 1/2 c raisins, dark
2 pie shells, deep dish

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Mix all ingredients together in order listed. Pour into both pie shells. Place uncooked pies on a cookie sheet.
  • 2. Bake until firm crust forms on their tops. (will not move when you slightly shake them). Bake about 65 minutes, but time may vary depending on your oven. Some take longer. I would start checking on it at about 40 minutes.

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 eggs
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans

  • Combine butter, sugar, corn syrup, salt, and vanilla in a medium mixing bowl; beat well.

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening
3 tablespoons cold water
FILLING:
1-1/4 cups chopped pecans
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
3 large eggs
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Pinch salt

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the flour and salt; cut in shortening until crumbly. Gradually add cold water, tossing with a fork until a ball forms. , Roll out dough to fit a 9-in. pie plate. Transfer crust to pie plate. Trim crust to 1/2 in. beyond edge of plate; flute edges. Sprinkle with pecans; set aside., In a small bowl, beat the corn syrup, eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt until well blended. Pour over pecans. , Bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes our clean. Cool on a wire rack.
