TACO CHICKEN WINGS

You only need butter, flour, taco seasonings and chicken wings to create our Mexican-inspired wings that can be ready in 45 minutes. Serve with a side of taco-seasoned sour cream.

6 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1 package Old El Paso™ taco seasoning mix
2 lb chicken wings (12)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In large roasting pan, melt butter in oven.
  • In large resealable food-storage plastic bag, mix flour and taco seasoning mix. Add chicken wings, a few at a time; shake to coat evenly. Place chicken in pan, turning each to coat with butter.
  • Bake 35 minutes or until juice of chicken is clear when thickest part is cut to bone (165°F).

2 1/2 lbs chicken wings
1/4 cup cornmeal
1 envelope taco seasoning mix
2 teaspoons dried parsley
3/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients except chicken wings in a plastic bag.
  • Add wings and shake to coat.
  • Place in single layer on 2 greased 15 x 10 pans.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Turn and bake 15 minutes more.
  • Recipe can be doubled.

These wings are a hit with the kids and adults. At a football party I serve Guacamole and chips along side the wings.

1 (8 ounce) package taco seasoning
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
3 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
4 lbs chicken wings
1 cup guacamole or 1 cup salsa

Steps:

  • In a large resalable plastic bag, combine the taco seasoning, oil and vinegar and hot pepper sauce; add chicken.
  • Seal bag and turn to coat let sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Place chicken on 4 inch rack and on power level high cook for 15 minutes per side.
  • You will have to cook in two different stages.
  • That's the great thing about Nuwave you can be serving the first batch of wings and cooking the others and everything remains hot.
  • Serve with either guacamole or salsa.
  • Mix cheese and paprika.
  • Roll 1 sheet of pastry into rectangle 12x10 inches, on lightly floured surface with flour covered rolling pin.
  • Brush pastry with egg. Sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of the cheese mixture. Press cheese gently into pastry. Turn pastry over and repeat process.
  • Cut pastry lengthwise into ½ inch strips. Unfold strips and roll each end in opposite directions to create twists.
  • Place on 4 inch rack and on power level high bake for 6-6 minutes or until brown. Let cool on wire rack.
  • Serve warm or cool.

This is spiced-up version of a recipe I found on a supermarket recipe leaflet. I find the seasoning is enough for 3 lbs or maybe some more, wings.

1 (1 1/4 ounce) envelope taco seasoning mix
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon cornmeal
1/2-1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 lbs chicken wings (tips removed)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a plastic bag mix together the taco seasoning mix, cornstarch, cornmeal, chili, cumin and oregano.
  • Add several wings to the bag and shake to give it a coating, repeat with the rest of the drumettes.
  • Place the wings in a single layer on a greased baking sheet(s).
  • Bake for approx 50 minutes, turning once or twice.
  • Serve with your favorite dip.

1/2 cup ranch dressing
1 tablespoon green hot sauce
1/3 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
2 packages (0.85 oz each) Old El Paso™ chicken taco seasoning mix
3 lb chicken wingettes and drummettes, patted dry
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh cilantro leaves, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 425°F. Line 18x12-inch rimmed sheet pan with foil. Place rack on top of foil. Spray rack and foil generously with cooking spray. In small bowl, stir together ranch dressing and hot sauce; cover and refrigerate.
  • In gallon-size resealable food-storage plastic bag, mix flour and taco seasoning mixes. Add chicken to bag; seal, and shake to coat chicken. Place in single layer on rack. Discard any remaining flour mixture. Brush both sides of chicken with melted butter.
  • Bake 25 minutes. Turn chicken. Bake 18 to 22 minutes longer or until juice of chicken is clear when thickest part is cut to bone (at least 165°F). Transfer to serving platter, and sprinkle with cilantro. Serve with dressing.

1/2 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 package (1 oz) Old El Paso™ taco seasoning mix
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 lb chicken wing sections, thawed if frozen
1 carton (8 oz) sour cream
1 can (4.5 oz) Old El Paso™ chopped green chiles
1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
2 tablespoons roughly chopped green onions
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 450°F. Fit large rectangular wire rack in 18x13-inch rimmed pan; spray both with cooking spray.
  • In large bowl, stir together Bisquick™ mix, oil, taco seasoning mix and salt until blended. Thoroughly pat chicken dry, add to mixture and turn to coat. Place in single layer on rack in pan.
  • Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until chicken is deep brown and juice of chicken is clear when thickest part is cut to bone (at least 165°F).
  • Meanwhile, place Herbed Sour Cream ingredients in blender. Cover and blend 30 to 60 seconds or until smooth. Serve with wings.
