1 Tablespoon olive oil
2 Tablespoons salted butter
1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
1 1/2 Tablespoons Sriracha
2 Tablespoons honey
1 Tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2 Tablespoon ketchup
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
chopped green onions or cilantro for garnish

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil and butter on medium heat in a cast iron pan. Add shrimp and cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until they start to turn pink.
  • In a small bowl, add Sriracha, honey, vinegar, ketchup, onion powder and paprika. Mix well then add to the pan. Stir the shrimp and sauce well and cook for another minute or until shrimp are fully cooked. Remove shrimp with a slotted spoon and keep warm in a bowl.
  • Continue to cook sauce for another 5 minutes or until it starts to thicken. Pour sauce over shrimp.
  • Garnish with green onion or cilantro before serving.

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup Thai-style sweet chili sauce
3 dashes Sriracha hot chile sauce (or to taste)
1/2 cup cornstarch (or as needed)
1 medium medium shrimp (peeled and deveined)
oil for frying
8 lettuce leaves
1 bunch chopped green onion (or to taste)

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Siracha hot sauce. Set aside.
  • Place the cornstarch in a shallow bowl. Gently press the shrimp into the cornstarch and coat on both sides. Shake off any excess.
  • Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Cook the shrimp in batches. Each batch should cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until the shrimp are lightly browned on the outside. Once cooked, transfer to paper towels to drain.
  • Place cooked shrimp in a bowl and pour chili sauce mixture on top. Toss gently to coat.
  • Top with green onion if desired.

SHRIMP IN MAYONNAISE

Yield 24 bites with about 1 cup/250 ml sauce

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 egg yolk, at room temperature
Pinch salt
2 teaspoons grainy Dijon mustard
About 1 cup/250 ml grapeseed, vegetable, canola, or peanut oil
Lemon juice, to taste
Pinch white pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil, for frying
24 shrimp, peeled, but with tail intact

Steps:

  • Whisk together the egg yolk, salt, mustard, and vinegar in a roomy bowl. To add the oil, start whisking the yolk mixture and let the oil fall from the spout, drop by drop, until you have achieved a thick, velvety mayonnaise. Taste it. Add lemon juice, salt, and pepper until the balance is to your liking.
  • Heat the olive oil in a saute pan. Fry the shrimp until just cooked through and still juicy. Arrange the shrimp on a platter with the mayonnaise in a dish alongside, for dipping.

1 cup water
⅔ cup white sugar
½ cup walnuts
4 egg whites
⅔ cup mochiko (glutinous rice flour)
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon canned sweetened condensed milk
1 cup vegetable oil for frying

Steps:

  • Stir together the water and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and add the walnuts. Boil for 2 minutes, then drain and place walnuts on a cookie sheet to dry.
  • Whip egg whites in a medium bowl until foamy. Stir in the mochiko until it has a pasty consistency. Heat the oil in a heavy deep skillet over medium-high heat. Dip shrimp into the mochiko batter, and then fry in the hot oil until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  • In a medium serving bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, honey and sweetened condensed milk. Add shrimp and toss to coat with the sauce. Sprinkle the candied walnuts on top and serve.

3 tablespoons reduced-fat mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
1 green onion, thinly sliced
3/4 teaspoon Sriracha chili sauce or 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
45 uncooked large shrimp (about 1-1/2 pounds), peeled and deveined
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, chili sauce, green onion and Sriracha. Sprinkle shrimp with salt and pepper.
