Easy Baked Brie with Nuts and Honey image

Who doesn't love some nice creamy brie? Take your favorite soft cheese to a new level with this fancy yet easy appetizer. You are in for a cheesy spectacle!

8 oz brie cheese
1/8 cup pistachios
1/8 cup almonds
1/4 cup dried figs
3 Tbsp honey, divided
1/2 tsp fresh rosemary
1/4 tsp fresh thyme

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Roughly chop nuts and figs. Mix with fresh herbs and 2 Tbsp honey.
  • Place brie in oven safe dish. Drizzle with remaining honey and spread nut mixture on top.
  • Bake 10 minutes, until brie is soft and sides begin to slightly collapse.
  • Remove from oven and rest 2-3 minutes. Serve with crackers, crostini and/or fruit.

Baked Brie with Honey and Walnuts image

An easy baked brie recipe with honey, walnuts, and fresh rosemary

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 wedge or small wheel of brie cheese
1/3 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
1/2 teaspoon freshly chopped rosemary
2-3 tablespoons dried cranberries (optional)
3 tablespoons honey
a generous pinch of coarse sea salt
crackers and/or fruit for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Place the brie into a small oven proof dish or pan. Place into the oven and bake for 5-10 minutes, until softened. I like mine oozy so go a few extra minutes. If you just want the brie soft, check at 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile toast walnuts by placing them in a skillet over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the nuts are fragrant and toasted. This will take 3-4 minutes.. Watch carefully as the walnuts can burn quickly. Remove from heat.
  • In a small bowl, combine toasted walnuts, chopped rosemary, dried cranberries if using and the honey. Stir until completely combined.
  • Remove brie from oven and spoon over the walnut mixture over the top. Sprinkle with a generous pinch of sea salt and serve immediately.
  • Serve brie with your choice of crackers, pita chips, grapes, apples, or crostini. They're all delicious choices!

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
14 ounces brie round (small wheel)
crackers or baguette, slices
fresh fruit (i.e. apple or pear slices)

Steps:

  • Combine nuts, brown sugar and butter into small saucepan.
  • Heat until sugar and butter are melted.
  • Place brie round into a shallow, round baking dish.
  • Pour nut mixture over and bake at 400º for 10 minutes.
  • Serve warm with crackers, baguette slices or fruit.

This is a very elegant appetizer. Make sure to 'gently' pat down the brown sugar (perhaps sprinkling would be better). The first time I made it I was not gentle and the crust was much to hard (but still delicious). Some reviewers have suggested using less sugar which sounds like a good option. You be the judge. Either way, it's sure to be a hit at your next get together.

1 (24 ounce) brie round, not fully ripened, top rind removed (8 inch)
1 cup chopped pecans
2 cups firmly packed brown sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat broiler.
  • Place Brie in 10-inch quiche dish or other oven-proof dish or pie plate and sprinkle with nuts.
  • Cover top and sides with sugar, patting gently with fingertips (do not be concerned if sides are not fully covered).
  • Broil on lowest rack until sugar bubbles and melts, about 3 minutes (cheese should retain its shape).
  • Serve immediately with crackers.

3 tablespoons light-brown sugar
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
