Hot jumbo buttermilk biscuits with creamy sausage gravy are ready in just 15 minutes for a hearty, family-favorite breakfast.

1 (16 ounce) can refrigerated jumbo buttermilk biscuits
1 (9.6 ounce) package Jimmy Dean® Original Hearty Pork Sausage Crumbles
¼ cup flour
2 ½ cups milk
Salt and ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Bake biscuits according to package directions.
  • Meanwhile, cook sausage in large skillet over medium heat 5-6 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring frequently. Stir in flour. Gradually add milk; cook until mixture comes to a boil and thickens, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Split biscuits in half. Place 2 halves on each of 8 plates; top with about 1/3 cup gravy.

Three ingredients (plus seasonings) and you have good "comfort food" gravy. Serve over biscuits, potatoes, or toast. This is an Indiana winter farm favorite. it fills you up and warms you up.

1/2 pound(s) bulk pork sausage
1/4 cup(s) flour
2 1/2 cup(s) milk
- salt, pepper, hot sauce to taste

Steps:

  • Crumble sausage in a large skillet and cook until thoroughly done and brown. Remove sauage from pan and set aside. Drain all but 2T grease and drippings.
  • Stir flour into drippings and continue to cook, stirring constantly until flour has browned. Gradually stir in milk and continue to stir constantly until gravy thickens. Stir in cooked sausage and seasonings to taste.
  • Serve over biscuits, mashed potatoes, or toast. Most of my friends like to serve over "Grands" brand prepared biscuits.
