These bacon wrapped smokies with brown sugar make a great appetizer! They are easy to make and can easily be made ahead of time & they freeze well!

1 Package of Bacon
1 Package of Mini Smokies
½ cup Brown Sugar
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
Toothpicks

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking pan with foil.
  • Cut Bacon into thirds. Wrap 1 piece of bacon around each mini smokie and secure with a toothpick.
  • Combine cayenne pepper and brown sugar and roll each smokie in the mixture. (Note: They can be frozen at this point)
  • Place on prepared pans and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Flip smokies and cook an additional 10 minutes or until bacon is crispy. (Add an extra 5 minutes if baking from frozen).

1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
One 16-ounce package bacon
One 13-ounce package cocktail franks, such as Lit'l Smokies

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika and cayenne pepper and mix well. Set aside.
  • Slice the bacon strips into thirds. Wrap each frank with a piece of bacon, secure with a toothpick and place on a baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining franks and bacon. Thoroughly coat each bacon-wrapped frank in the brown sugar mixture and place back on the baking sheet.
  • Bake until the bacon is crispy, 12 to 15 minutes. The rub has a lot of sugar in it, so make sure to turn halfway through the cooking process so the bottoms do not burn.

1 lb bacon, cut into thirds
1 lb lil' smokies (small sausages)
1 stick butter
2 c brown sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375F. Cut the bacon into thirds and wrap each smokie.(small sausage) Place all the wrapped smokies in a single layer in a baking dish. Then melt the stick of butter and then 1 cup of brown sugar and stir until mixed well.
  • 2. Pour the butter and brown sugar mixture on the smokies and bacon. Then take the other cup of brown sugar and sprinkle evenly over the smokies. Bake them for about 15-20 minutes and then turn the heat up to 400F for about 5 minutes or longer until the bacon becomes crispy.
