NO BAKE SWEET MARIE BARS

- Prepare an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.
- Cook and stir peanut butter, corn syrup, brown sugar, and butter together in a large saucepan over medium-low heat until boiling. Fold crispy rice cereal and peanuts into the peanut butter mixture; press into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top of the hot mixture. Let chocolate chips melt; spread chocolate over the top in an even layer.
- Refrigerate until the mixture hardens, about 1 hour.

- In a large bowl, cream the butter, peanut butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Beat in the eggs, water and vanilla. Combine the flour, oats, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. , Spread into a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake at 325° for 18-22 minutes or until lightly browned. , For glaze, in a microwave, melt chips and peanut butter; stir until smooth. Pour over warm bars; spread evenly. Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting.

My mom attended St. Mary's Catholic school growing up, and these were served on the lunch line. My mom would often whip up a batch for us to enjoy as I grew up, soooo good!

- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Mix all base ingredients together until well combined.
- Press mixture into a long edged cookie pan and bake for 20 minutes.
- While bars are cooling, mix sugar, milk, and butter together for the topping on the stove. Bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add chocolate chips, stirring until smooth and thickened (about 2-3 minutes).
- Spread over bars, let cool, then enjoy!
