ITALIAN POPCORN WITH PARMESAN



Italian Popcorn with Parmesan image

A quick, savory snack that is perfect for movie night.

6 tablespoons unpopped popcorn
¼ cup olive oil
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 ½ tablespoons Italian seasoning
1 ½ teaspoons garlic salt
1 cup freshly grated Parmigiano cheese

Steps:

  • Combine popcorn and 1/4 cup olive oil in a 2-quart saucepan; cover. Cook over high heat, continuously shaking the pan, until the popcorn is popped and the lid begins to lift from the popcorn, about 5 minutes. Pour popcorn into a large bowl.
  • Mix 2 tablespoons olive oil, Italian seasoning, and garlic salt into popcorn; toss to coat. Add Parmesan cheese and mix well.

SPAGHETTI POPCORN

This is a great snack for kids to make. I got this recipe from a gift cookbook I got for Christmas. This is a good recipe to use for gifting too!

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 cup(s) popped popcorn
3 tablespoon(s) butter or margarine, melted
1 teaspoon(s) chili powder
1 package(s) spaghetti sauce mix (i use lawry's)
1 teaspoon(s) granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon(s) garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • In a small glass jar, combine all ingredients , except the popped corn and the butter. Place the dry mixture in tight fitting jar.
  • Melt margarine or butter in a small microwave measuring cup. Add 1 Tablespoon of the dry mixture from the jar into the margarine and stir until mixed well. Drizzle the mixture over the popped popcorn. Oh so good!

SPICY POPCORN

Vegetable oil
1/2 cup popping corn
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1/8 teaspoon black pepper, or more

Steps:

  • Place the popcorn kernels in a heavy-bottomed large pot and add enough oil just to cover them. Put the lid on and cook on high until you hear the first pop. Immediately take it off the heat and let it sit 1 minute. Then return it to the heat and finish popping, shaking the pan the whole time. Toss the cheese with the white pepper.
  • In a large bowl, toss the popcorn with the butter well then with the cheese and black pepper mixture and taste for seasoning.
