REAL SOUTHERN PEANUT BUTTER PIE

Real Southern Peanut Butter Pie image

This peanut butter pie is the real deal. No pudding or freezing. Any true Southerner knows a real peanut butter pie when they taste it and this is it. This recipe was passed on to me by a chef at a famous inn here in Virginia that served up some of the best pies in the state.

SOUTHERN PEANUT BUTTER PIE

Southern Peanut Butter Pie image

Yes, it is gloriously Southern -- as I am, and a family favorite! It's made with dark corn syrup, peanut butter and whole peanuts and looks like pumpkin pie, but don't be fooled! This pie is simple and delicious for those who like peanut butter. It is a great recipe to serve guests as it is an unexpected taste treat! Serve with whipped topping or ice cream if desired.

SOUTHERN PEANUT BUTTER PECAN PIE

Southern Peanut Butter Pecan Pie image

A little twist on the traditional pecan pie. The peanut butter takes the sweetness away and adds more flavor. Still fairly rich, this recipe comes out only on holidays for my family. I hope you enjoy this.

This is a very rich pie with a peanut butter pudding filling and a meringue topping. Sometimes I use whipped cream instead of the meringue. This pie is as southern as it gets.
