Impossibly Easy Ham and Swiss Pie image

It's restaurant-style quiche at home! This easy ham and Swiss cheese pie is sure to be a family-pleasing entrée.

1 1/2 cups cubed fully cooked smoked boneless ham
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese (4 ounces)
1/4 cup chopped green onions or chopped onion
1/2 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
1 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt, if desired
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 eggs
1 tomato, sliced
1 green bell pepper, cut into rings

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F. Grease 9-inch pie plate. Sprinkle ham, cheese and onions in pie plate.
  • Stir Bisquick mix, milk, salt, pepper and eggs until blended. Pour into pie plate.
  • Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Garnish with tomato and bell pepper.

1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon dried onion flakes
2 1/2 cups cubed, fully cooked ham
1 cup frozen peas, thawed
2 hard-cooked eggs, chopped
pastry shells (8 in.)

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a saucepan; stir in flour, salt, mustard and pepper until smooth.
  • Gradually add milk and onion; bring to a boil.
  • Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  • Stir in ham, peas, and eggs.
  • Pour into an ungreased 8 inch square or an 11x7x2 inch baking dish.
  • On a floured surface, roll pastry to fit top of dish; place over filling.
  • Seal and flute edges; cut slits on top.
  • Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
