I combined several recipes to come up with this easy and delicious slow cooker apple crisp dessert. Serve with vanilla ice cream and additional caramel topping.

4 tart apples, peeled and sliced, or more to taste
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
⅓ cup caramel topping
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 (15.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 cup oatmeal
¾ cup butter

Steps:

  • Mix apples, white sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon together in a slow cooker. Drizzle with caramel topping and melted butter.
  • Mix cake mix and oatmeal together in a bowl. Cut in butter using 2 knives or a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Place on top of apple mixture in the slow cooker.
  • Cook on High until cooked down and golden on top, 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

6 Granny Smith apples, peeled, chopped (about 6 cups)
1 pkg. (3.4 oz.) JELL-O Caramel Flavor Instant Pudding
1/3 cup water
2/3 cup old-fashioned oats
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
5 Tbsp. butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Steps:

  • Toss apples with dry pudding mix in large bowl. Add water; mix lightly. Spoon into slow cooker sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Combine oats, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon in large bowl. Add butter and vanilla; mix well. Spoon over apple mixture; cover with lid.
  • Cook on LOW 4 hours (or on HIGH 2 hours).
  • Serve topped with COOL WHIP.
