SLOW-COOKED PEACHY PORK CHOPS.

Wonderful mix of flavors and so easy to put together! Start it in the late morning, it'll be ready by dinner time.

Number Of Ingredients 9

5 1/2"-thick pork chops
1 Tbsp canola oil
1/4 c packed, light brown sugar.
1/4 tsp crushed cloves
1 8 oz can low-sodium tomato sauce.
1 29 oz can peach halves, syrup reserved.
1/4 c cider vinegar.
pinch each of salt and pepper to taste.
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Steps:

  • 1. In lg skillet, over med-high heat, brown chopss in oil. Pour off any fat. In bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, tomato sauce, 1/4 cup reserved peach syrup and vinegar, mix well. Sprinkle pork chops w/ salt and peper. Arrange chops in slow-cooker, place peaches on top of chops. Pour tomato mix over all. Cover, cook on low for 4-6 hrs, or until pork is completely done.

I've been making this for years and my husband loves these chops, and it's one way to get him to eat fruit, lol. Very saucy and tender, these chops go well with rice or baked potatoes.

5 bone-in pork chops, any visible fat removed
1/4 c light brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
1 29 oz can cling peach halves, 1/4 cup syrup reserved
1/4 c vinegar, i used cider vinegar
salt & pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Spray a lg skillet w/ cooking spray, place over med-high heat. Brown chops on both sides, pour off any fat.
  • 2. In bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, tomato sauce , reserved peach syrup, and vinegar, mix well.
  • 3. Sprinkle chops w/ salt and pepper and place in a 4-quart slow-cooker. Place peaches on top of chops. Pour sauce over peaches. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hrs, or until chops are cooked through, but tender.
