SINGAPORE SWEET CHILI SHRIMP

Great fresh taste. sweet with a little heat. Great served with rice or noodles.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 tablespoon(s) each oil, garlic minced and ginger grated
1/4 cup(s) chopped green onions
1 - jalapeno seeded and chopped
1 pound(s) shrimp uncooked peeled and deveined
1 large tomato pureed in food processor
3 tablespoon(s) sweet chili sauce
- juice of 1 lime
1 tablespoon(s) sugar
2 teaspoon(s) cornstarch

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add the garlic, ginger, green onions, and jalapenos and saute 2 minutes. Mix together the pureed tomato, sweet chili sauce, lime juice, sugar and cornstarch. Add to skillet. Cook until thickened a bit. Stir in the shrimp and cook until pink. Garnish with chives if desired

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 pound uncooked shrimp (16-20 per pound), peeled and deveined
2 medium zucchini, halved and sliced
1/2 pound sliced fresh mushrooms
1 medium sweet orange pepper, julienned
3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
3 green onions, chopped
1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. Place shrimp, zucchini, mushrooms and orange pepper in a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Combine chili sauce, oil, lime juice and soy sauce. Pour over shrimp mixture and toss to coat., Bake until shrimp turn pink and vegetables are tender, 12-15 minutes. Sprinkle with green onions and cilantro.
