1 1/2 pounds ground beef
3 teaspoons minced garlic
2 cans tomato puree (29 ounces each)
2 cans diced tomatoes, with juice (14.5 ounces each)
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons oregano
2 teaspoons basil
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, brown the ground beef along with the garlic. Drain.
  • Add in the rest of the ingredients and bring to a low boil, stirring often.
  • Once the sauce is heated through and at a low boil, reduce the burner temperature to low and simmer uncovered for 45 minutes.
  • Serve immediately or allow the sauce to cool, then package it in freezer-safe containers for easy storage.

1 lb spaghetti
4 tablespoons olive oil
3 garlic cloves, crushed
1 (2 ounce) can anchovy fillets, chopped
1 cup fine breadcrumbs
1 cup chopped fresh parsley
ground black pepper
4 tablespoons freshly grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
  • Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  • Meanwhile, in a medium skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add garlic and anchovies to cook for about 2 minutes; stir constantly.
  • Stir in breadcrumbs and turn off heat.
  • Add parsley and black ground pepper; mix together.
  • Toss anchovy sauce with hot pasta and sprinkle with cheese; serve.

1/4 pound bacon strips, diced
2 medium onions, chopped
2 celery ribs, chopped
2 small carrots, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup dry red wine or beef broth
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 bay leaves
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon each ground cumin, nutmeg and pepper
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Hot cooked pasta

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, cook the beef, pork, bacon, onions, celery and carrots over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add garlic; cook 2 minutes longer. Add wine; cook until liquid is reduced by half, 4-5 minutes., Stir in the tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, bay leaves, sugar and seasonings. Bring to a boil.
