AUNT SHIRLEY'S "TROPIC-TANG" FRUIT SALAD

This is a unique Fruit Salad that is wonderful to have during the summer. (Although, I also find myself craving this during the winter months too!) I always have requests to bring this to family functions and never have any left over. As a result, I always double this recipe when preparing it for family gatherings.

1 (16 ounce) can pineapple chunks, in natural juice
3 tablespoons instant Tang orange drink
1 (3 1/2 ounce) box instant vanilla pudding
2 (12 ounce) cans tropical fruit salad, drained
2 bananas

Steps:

  • Mix together Pineapple Chunks (with juice), Tang, and Instant Vanilla Pudding until incorporated.
  • Drain juice from canned Tropical Fruit and add fruit to Pineapple mixture.
  • Cool mixture until ready to serve (juice will thicken.).
  • Slice bananas (just before serving) and mix ingredients together.
  • Serve from bowl or from individual champagne glasses with a sprig of mint for decoration.
  • NOTE: Best when kept cool or served immediately.

1 pint strawberries - cleaned, hulled and sliced
1 pound seedless grapes, halved
3 kiwis, peeled and sliced
3 bananas, sliced
1 (21 ounce) can peach pie filling

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the strawberries, grapes, kiwis, and bananas. Gently mix in peaches. Chill for 1 hour before serving.

I love this salad, it taste so good and looks so pretty. you can use any kind of fruit and any flavor jello. I have made it all.make this in place of the old fruit salad for Thanksgiving .

2 pt cottage cheese
2 pt cool whip
1 box lg box dry jello
3 c small marshmellos
1 1/2 c chopped walnuts (if wanted)
3 can(s) fruit depending on the flavor you want.

Steps:

  • 1. mix cool whip, cottage cheese, orange or any flavor jello you like and tiny marshmellow's 2 can's of tangerines or fruit that you like. add nuts if you like.
  • 2. mix in large fancy bowl . this is best made the night before or morning of. cover and put in Refridgator . keeps for 3 /4 days.
  • 3. you can change this recipe like use strawberry , or lime, orange , what other flavor you like or so on. lets you choose.
