Had this first at a friends house and thought it was the best potato dish I have ever had. I guess it had been passed down from generations in their family. Really easy to make and everyone will love it.guaranteed:-)

2 lbs frozen potatoes (1 bag)
500 ml sour cream
1/2 cup graded onion
20 ounces cream of mushroom soup
2 cups graded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 F.
  • Thaw potatoes.
  • Mix together potatoes, sour cream, onion, mushroom soup and cheddar cheese.
  • Place ingredients in 9*13 baking dish.
  • Melt butter and pour over mixture, mix inches.
  • Bake for 1 1/2 hours.

2 lbs frozen hash browns or 2 lbs potatoes, fresh, chopped and pre-cooked
2 cups sour cream
2 (10 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup onion, grated (to taste)
1 teaspoon sea salt (to taste)
1 teaspoon pepper (to taste)
2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated (to taste)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Thaw frozen hash browns or pre-cook potatoes and chop into 3/8" cubes.
  • Mix all but the parmesan with the potatoes.
  • Transfer this mix to a presprayed 9X13 inch baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the parmesan over the top.
  • Bake at 350F for 60-90 minutes.
  • This is moist, and very flavorful. Make the whole recipe, divide it into two pans and freeze one before cooking for a quick side later. Or, double or triple it for a pot luck or office size serving. Everyone will want the recipe, and more.

1 kg bag frozen hashbrown potatoes (thawed slightly for easier mixing)
1 500 ml container sour cream
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup melted butter
1/3 cup grated onion
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Parmesan cheese (to taste)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick spray. Mix all ingredients together (except Parmesan cheese) in the largest bowl you can find. Put the potato mixture into the baking dish and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake for 1-1/2 hours. Let sit 5 minutes before serving.
