These are very good. You can also make them smaller using the "triangle" instead of the "square" and have as an appetizer instead of the main course.

1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons butter, melted
2 cups cooked cubed boneless chicken or 2 (5 ounce) cans boneless chicken
1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped olive (optional)
1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
3/4 cup crushed crouton

Steps:

  • Blend cream cheese with 2 Tbsp butter until smooth.
  • Add next five ingredients and mix well.
  • Spoon 1/2 C meat mixture onto 2"triangles" of dough.
  • (don't separate, so you actually have a "square") Pull 4 corners to the top, center of mixture and twist slightly and seal edges by pinching.
  • Brush tops with remaining butter and sprinkle with croutons Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 20-25 minutes in a 350* oven until golden brown.

We have only been eating these for about five years now and I forget about them until looking for some other recipe. They are rich and very good for a quick luncheon with the girls.

3 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1 Tbsp butter, softened
2 c cubed cooked chicken
1 Tbsp chopped fresh chives or onion
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 Tbsp milk
1/4 c chopped pecans
1 can(s) (8 oz) pillsbury® refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1 Tbsp butter, melted
3/4 c seasoned croutons, crushed

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 350°F. In medium bowl, mix cream cheese and 1 tablespoon softened butter; beat until smooth. Add chicken, chives, salt, pepper, milk and pecans; mix well.
  • 2. Separate or cut dough into 4 rectangles. If using crescent dough, firmly press perforations to seal. Spoon 1/2 cup chicken mixture onto center of each rectangle. Pull 4 corners of dough to center of chicken mixture; twist firmly. Pinch edges to seal.
  • 3. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Brush tops of sandwiches with 1 tablespoon melted butter; sprinkle with crushed croutons. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.

2 cups cubed cooked chicken *
1 tablespoon chopped chives or onion
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon chopped pimientos, if desired
1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll
1 tablespoon margarine or butter, melted
3/4 cup seasoned croutons, crushed

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In medium bowl, beat cream cheese and 1 tablespoon softened margarine until smooth. Add chicken, chives, salt, pepper, milk and pimento mix well.Separate crescent dough into 4 rectangles. Firmly press perforations to seal. Spoon 1/2 cup of chicken mixture onto center of each rectangle. Pull 4 corners of dough to center of chicken mixture twist firmly. Pinch edges to seal. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Brush tops of sandwiches with 1 tablespoon melted margarine sprinkle with crushed croutons.
