I love this because I always have leftover bread and it goes to waste most of the time. The best part is that you can pull out as many pieces as you want and bake them straight from the freezer!

½ cup butter, softened
⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried parsley
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 (1 pound) loaf Italian bread, cut into 1 inch slices

Steps:

  • Mix butter, Parmesan cheese, parsley, and garlic powder in a bowl. Arrange Italian bread on a large baking sheet and spread each slice with garlic butter mixture. Place baking sheet in freezer and freeze until bread solid, about 1 hour. Transfer bread to a resealable plastic freezer bag until ready to use.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Arrange desired number of slices, butter-side up, on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in preheated oven until bread is toasted and butter is melted, 5 to 7 minutes.

Quick and scrumptious garlic bread that will complement any Italian meal. Melted mozzarella is optional, but delicious!

1 (1 pound) loaf Italian bread
5 tablespoons butter, softened
2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon dried oregano
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat the broiler.
  • Cut the bread into slices 1 to 2 inches thick.
  • In a small bowl, mix butter, olive oil, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper. Spread the mixture evenly on the bread slices.
  • On a medium baking sheet, arrange the slices evenly and broil 5 minutes, or until slightly brown. Check frequently so they do not burn.
  • Remove from broiler. Top with cheese and return to broiler 2 to 3 minutes, until cheese is slightly brown and melted. Serve at once.

1 slice pumpernickel bread
1 slice sourdough bread
1 slice marble rye bread
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1/4 cup hummus
2 tablespoons sliced kalamata olives
1/4 cup halved cherry tomatoes
2 tablespoons crumbled feta
1 tablespoon torn fresh oregano
1/4 cup ricotta cheese
2 tablespoons cherry preserves
1/4 cup fresh or frozen pitted cherries, halved
2 tablespoons toasted sliced almonds (can be found in the salad section)
1/4 cup whipped herb cream cheese (store bought)
2 ounces smoked salmon
1 tablespoon capers, drained
Zest of 1 lemon
1 tablespoon fresh dill

Steps:

  • For the toast: Toast the slices of pumpernickel, sourdough and marble rye in the toaster. Butter each with 1 tablespoon of the softened butter.
  • For the Mediterranean toast: Spread the hummus onto the toasted pumpernickel bread. Top with the olives and tomato. Sprinkle over the feta and garnish with the oregano.
  • For the cherry ricotta toast: Spread the sourdough with the ricotta cheese. Dab the cherry preserves on top and, using a spoon, swirl the preserves into the ricotta. Top with the cherries and almonds.
  • For the smoked salmon toast: Spread the cream cheese onto the toasted rye bread. Fold the salmon and lay it on top of the cream cheese. Top with the capers, lemon zest and fresh dill.
  • Halve the toasts and place onto a platter. Enjoy.

1 baguette
1/4 cup good olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 garlic clove, halved lengthwise

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Slice the baguette diagonally in 1/4-inch-thick slices. Depending on the size of the baguette, you should get 20 to 25 slices.
  • Lay the slices in one layer on a sheet pan, brush each with olive oil, and sprinkle generously with salt and pepper. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until browned and crisp. As soon as they're cool enough to handle, rub the top of the toasts with a cut side of the garlic. Serve at room temperature.

Our Cheesy Garlic Texas Toast is better than anything that you can find in the frozen section at the store - make it fresh right at home!

1 teaspoon garlic powder
salt and pepper, to taste
8 slices white bread (cut 1-inch thick (you could use regular white bread or french bread))

Italian seasoning, to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat broiler setting on oven. Mix together butter and garlic powder in a small bowl. Add salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Brush both sides of each slice of bread with butter mixture and place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Broil bread for 1 minute on each side, or until light golden brown. Sprinkle one side of bread with cheese and Italian seasoning and broil until cheese is melted.
  • Watch closely to avoid burning.

8 slice pepperidge farm party rye bread with carraway seeds
1/2 c butter, melted
1/2 tsp garlic powder
if you can't find party rye (not sure they still make it), any type rye will do.

Steps:

  • 1. Melt butter in microwave for 1 minute (or less, depending on your microwave). Add garlic powder to melted butter and stir well.
  • 2. With tongs, dip each slice of bread in garlic butter and place on hot grill.
  • 3. Turn often until they reach desired brownness. Serve hot.
  • 4. May also brown these in the conventional oven or broiler.
